As his mother tells it, Dr. Brandon Hedgecocks passion for dentistry began when he was barely 3 years old and would declare he wanted to be a dentist when he grew up. By high school, Dr. Hedgecock says he was sure, and he went on to obtain his degree in Biology from the University of Texas (hook em, Horns!) and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio.
After graduating, Dr. Hedgecock spent four years in Joplin, Missouri, working with a federally qualified community health center providing dental care to the underserved. He entered private practice in 2011, where he has enjoyed building better, long-lasting relationships with his patients and team.
If you snore or have sleep apnea, Dr. Hedgecock can also help you get a better nights sleep with oral appliance therapy. He is a diplomate with the American Sleep and Breathing Academy and the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Hedgecock is passionate about ongoing education for himself and his fellow dentists, taking time to travel the country teaching his peers about sleep apnea treatment. To assist him in providing the highest level of teaching as an instructor, Dr. Hedgecock recently became a member of the ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists), the worlds largest provider of continuing dental implant education. He knows the best way to provide his patients with the best care Austin has to offer is by continually improving on his understanding of dentistry.
Quality care is all about balance. We love Dr. Hedgecock because he truly understands that the best way to give his all at work, is to take time to pursue his passions in his off time. His favorite things can best be described with three words: kids, golf, and the UT Longhorns. When hes not in the office or creating awesome smiles, hes spending quality time with his son & daughter. Always one to look for a challenge, Dr. Hedgecock also loves to hit the links for a round of golf! When it comes to football season, all he can say is a big Hook em Horns! A former football player with the UT Longhorns, Dr. Hedgecock loves to support his alma mater every chance he gets!
Dr. Hany Ahmed was born in Egypt and grew up in Alexandria on the coast of the Mediterranean. He received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Alexandria University, Egypt in 2007, and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Southern California in 2014. He's completed additional training in implant dentistry and bone grafting, and he is certified in Invisalign treatment and conscious sedation.
Dr. Ahmed takes pride in being able to comfort his patients and provide them with top-notch dentistry that produces satisfying results. He is particularly fond of improving esthetics through dentistry because he believes smiles are the key to the heart.
Outside of the office, Dr. Ahmed enjoys being outdoors and is passionate about traveling and experiencing different cultures. He likes to swim and play tennis, squash, and soccer. When he's relaxing at home, he likes to read and watch television series. His wife, Heidi, is an MD Radiologist who also grew up in Egypt. He has two brothers, one is a Pharmacist that lives in Victoria, TX, and the other is a Civil Engineer who lives in Kuwait. He is the uncle of two nieces and two nephews.
Dr. Jenny Tran grew up in Saskatchewan Canada where she knew she wanted to become a dentist by the time she was in 8th grade. She went to the University of Saskatchewan for both her undergrad as well as her dental degree. Upon finishing dental school she completed a 1-year hospital residency where she received advanced training in general dentistry, as well as IV sedation, and surgical procedures. She then started her own practice in downtown Saskatoon, which she continues to maintain today.
Dr. Tran's passion for dentistry is in helping people become healthier and happier. She loves how dentistry can truly improve a patient's life. She is also passionate about continued personal and professional growth and has completed hundreds upon hundreds of hours of continuing education to further enhance her ability to provide life-changing dentistry including comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry, botox, Invisalign, implants, and sedation. She is a graduate of the prestigious Kois Center and utilizes her knowledge and expertise to help patients look at the entire mouth as one big system, and problem solves how to improve it.
When she isn't in the office or at a course Dr. Tran enjoys physical activity and the outdoors. She is a former competitive weightlifter and loves hiking, snowboarding, dancing, and golfing. She travels often to different parts of the world and nothing excites her more than an amazing meal with a great glass of wine. Dr. Tran also loves her kitchen where she is particularly fond of baking and also enjoys learning how to cook different meals, especially traditional Vietnamese dishes from her grandma.
Ivette is one of our Registered Dental Assistants and another Austin, TX native-born and raised! She attended Travis High School before going on to the College of Healthcare Professionals where she graduated in 2013. Ivette is bilingual and enjoys helping patients gain confidence in their smile while educating them about oral health. She comes from a big, loving family, and her grandparents mean the world to her. She is the loving mother of two beautiful daughters, and together they love to swim in the summer, play board games, and go out for ice cream. They also love to have 'girls ' days' where they get their hair and nails done. When she 's not spending time with family or helping patients in the office, Ivette loves dancing, playing volleyball and softball, and playing with their poodle. 'We love to travel and have a great time without any special occasion.'
Heather grew up in South Alabama where most of her family still lives, but recently moved to Austin from Alaska. After she graduated from high school in 2004, she started learning on the job with a dentist, then became a certified Dental Assistant in 2015. She's worked with specialists in periodontics, orthodontics, and endodontics, and her favorite part of dental assisting is meeting and getting to know new people, as well as helping ease their anxiety about visiting the dentist.
Heather and her family love the outdoors, especially the mountains, and she hikes whenever she has the chance. She also enjoys movies and crafts. Her amazing girlfriend, Erin, is serving in the US Coast Guard Reserves and attending nursing school. Her daughter, Ellie, is loving middle school and the weather in Texas. Heather, Erin, and Ellie have two dogs: Gertrude and Hartley.
Racquel, or Rocky as her friends call her, was born in Oklahoma and grew up in Bertram, TX, where most of her family lives. Racquel attended Burnet High School and received her RDA license in 2011. She worked in pediatric dentistry as an assistant until she was accepted to Dental Hygiene School in 2015. She received her RDH certification from Coastal Bend College in Beeville. A real go-getter, Racquel also went on to receive her 2nd Associate degree in biology from Blinn College in Bryan, TX and is also certified in CPR and nitrous oxide administration. For Racquel, the best part of this job is meeting new people, getting to know them and providing the quality care they deserve. Racquel comes from a big family, and is happily married to her husband, Adaam. Together they have a sweet young goldendoodle named Penny, who she loves to play with in her free time. She also loves to shop, travel, watch movies, spend time with friends and family, and find fun local activities in Austin!
