Outdoors is where Dr. Tom Hebert spends much of his out of office time. He especially loves hunting with his dog, Chienne. If he is not hunting, he spends his time on the golf course, in his yard shooting his bow, on the river fishing, in the woods exploring, or giving his grandkids a ride on the ATV. Dr. Hebert has become an eager reader of magazines, books on dog training, Africa, infectious diseases, and human-interest stories.
When Dr. Hebert began Hebert Dental in 1975, he envisioned a dental practice that would treat patients with the highest level of skill, expertise, and care. He wanted the patients to feel calm and at ease when walking through the door.
The Hebert Dental teams level of skill and expertise is seen once the patients are sitting in the dental chair. They do a very thorough comprehensive examination at the first visit to discover the patients dental condition. The examination helps them discover what is needed for their patients to achieve an Hebert Smile. Hebert Dental has had a mercury-free dental office since 1981. Dr. Hebert is proud of his staff and pleased to be treating patients the way he envisioned years ago.
Dr. Sean Tarpenning has a long history of achievement from his younger days in high school to college and now in his professional life. In high school, he achieved numerous academic awards and along the way participated in hockey and tennis. As a Collegian, he was an active officer in the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity (founded by the Boy Scouts of America), numerous academic organizations, and worked as both a Christian Camp Counselor and in a nursing home during his summer vacations.
Now, as a dental professional, Dr. Tarpenning has been a two-time president of the Chippewa Valley Dental Society, and has spent hundreds of hours on post-doctoral training with a focus on Complex restorative dentistry. He has authored two books about dentistry.
As a child, Sean grew up in Rice Lake. He lived there until the passing of his father. Later he moved to Rochester, Minnesota, where he went to high school. He then attended Luther College, located an hour south of Rochester in Decorah, Iowa, for four years where he got his B.A. in Biology. He then attended the University Of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
Upon graduation, Dr. Tarpenning was an adjunct fixed prosthodontics instructor at the School of Dentistry, and from there joined Dr. Hebert in his practice in 2000. He has a wide range of interests, including athletics as he was an Eau Claire youth hockey coach. Dr. Tarpenning is still an active hockey player, enjoys bicycling, and runs for a cure in a marathon in San Francisco every year.
Dr. Erin Tollefson grew up near Rochester, Minnesota and moved to Eau Claire when she was 11 where she graduated from Memorial High School. After high school, Dr. Tollefson went on to get her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. However, shortly after graduating she realized her love of dentistry through observing here at Hebert Dental! That led Dr. Tollefson back to the University of Minnesota where she applied to dental school, was accepted, and four years later graduated with her DDS degree.
Dr. Tollefson and her husband, Spencer, had their first child, Bennett, in November of 2019. They love to spend time together and stay active by going on walks, being on the water, and adjusting to life as a family of 3! They are looking forward to raising their family here and learning more about everything this community has to offer. Dr. Tollefson says that being a part of the Hebert Dental family is a dream come true!
