Dr. Wehrle is a 1985 graduate of University of Dallas with a Bachelor degree in biology. Dr. Wehrle graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1989. Upon completing his residency at the University of Massachusetts Dr. Wehrle became one of only 10% of dentists in the USA who have completed a hospital residency. As a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Wehrle completes twice the amount of continuing education that is required by the State of Texas every year.
This continuing education has earned Dr. Wehrle certifications in Invisalign, Implantology and Orthodontics to name a few. Dr. Wehrle is a member of the American Dental Association, American Orthodontics Society and the Academy Of General Dentistry. Dr. Wehrle feels strongly that we should all give back to our fellow man.
As a result, he helped create the Northeast Clinic for Underprivileged Children in conjunction with the United Way and currently serves as Chairman for that organization. Also, he has built a full service dental clinic for the needy in Puebla, Mexico which he runs and volunteers at on a regular basis. Dr. Wehrle has lived in the DFW area since 1981 and has lived in the HEB area since 1990. Dr. Wehrle presently resides here with his wife Tammy, having raised 4 adult children that live in the surrounding area.

Physicians have relied on computerized axial tomography scans (CAT) for years. Today, many dentists rely on 3D imaging scans to provide them with a detailed view of the mouth and skull. 3D scans are quick and simple to perform. A Cone Beam Imaging System is at the heart of the 3D scanner. The cone beams are used to take literally hundreds of pictures of the face. These pictures are used to compile an exact 3D image of the inner mechanisms of the face and jaw. The dentist is able to zoom in on specific areas and view them from alternate angles.
3D x-rays provide our team a more comprehensive view of your entire mouth which helps us locate issues that arent always identifiable in a 2D image. We in turn are able to coordinate treatment planning and dental services to our patients in more depth and can explain treatments with greater clarity and accuracy. Other benefits include:
With our CEREC technology, we can take a digital impression of your mouth, digitally design your restoration, mill your new ceramic crown and place the crown in one sitting, rather than having to send your physical impressions out to a lab to make your crown. Our tooth-colored restorations are metal free, long lasting and extremely durable. With our same-day crowns service, there is no temporary crown involved and you can leave our office the same day with your permanent crown and tooth.
At HEB Dental, our Waterlase MD means no more drilling and no more needles. Instead of that awful drilling noise you simply hear a soft clicking. The laser gently removes decayed tooth structure and unhealthy tissue. The laser uses water droplets combined with laser energy, there is no heat or vibration.
Laser dentistry is especially well-suited to the preparation of teeth for fillings, root canals, gum surgery and more, as the laser easily removes decayed tooth structure while conserving as much of the healthy tooth as possible. Very few dentists in Texas have this level of technology.
We've taken the next step in the progression of delivering crowns and straightening teeth in the quickest, most advanced way possible. Our new 3Shape video scanner now eliminates the need to take impressions (molds) in most cases. This intraoral scanner literally takes a video scan of your mouth, providing highly accurate virtual impressions. The benefit is that we no longer need to put goopy stuff in our patients' mouths, often causing a gag reflex, to get these impressions. This scanner improves the patient experience while at the same time increasing the quality of the impressions we use for Same-Day-Crowns and SuperFast Invisalign services.

I was referred to HEB Dental Excellence in 2018 after my previous dentist retired & have received excellent care from Dr. Michael Wehrle and his staff since then. Dr. Wehrle is an amazing dentist - highly skilled, experienced, personable, & very passionate about his profession. He is proactive in identifying & addressing both existing & potential dental issues. For example, he removed my problematic wisdom teeth locally in the office, without requiring sedation & without pain during the procedure & afterward - something that a previous dental specialist didn't believe was possible. My hygienist Teri is terrific as well - very proficient, diligent, communicative, & caring. The office staff are always friendly, helpful, professional, & efficient. HEB Dental Excellence uses the latest dental technology & techniques, & offers a wide array of services for all ages. I highly recommend them for exceptional dental care.

The staff are super friendly from the front of the office all the way to the back.. they work with you on a budget as needed. Everyone makes sure that they are all doing a good job. Dr. Whirley and the other dentists make sure that you understand the process of your procedures and that you are comfortable. I have never been invited to the Christmas party but that's understandable I don't work there LOL but I do recommend them 100%

Had to change dentist since mine retired. In 2018 started going to HEB dental, and I can't say enough good things and how much they all care. I needed so much work done, and doctor Wehrle took on the challenge and worked out a plan to help keep what teeth I had to restore my smile. This doctor and staff really care about all his patients and goes beyond every means possible to take care of you. This dentis really cares about your teeth and no gimmicks. He guaranteed 5years work he did on my teeth, Low and behold I did have an issue this September and he is taking care of me again, This is what a dentist should be as well as his assistants. Thanks to Dr. Wehrle, as well as his staff for the care he has given me. Best dental experience ever.
