Established in 1993, Heart City Health is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) providing affordable, high quality medical, dental, and behavioral health care to residents of Elkhart County.
This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233 (g)-(n). This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
Heart City Health may take positions on or advocate with regard to public policy issues pertinent to its mission, consistent with the requirements of applicable Federal and state law. However, Heart City Health conducts all of its activities in an entirely nonpartisan manner. I enjoy helping my clients achieve their maximum level of health. Seeing my previously depressed or anxious patients finally able to laugh, smile or be fully engaged with their families again is very rewarding.
I have practiced a broad range of medicine including obstetrics, pediatrics, ER, urgent care, and geriatrics. Currently, my focus is providing care for adults, and my interests include evidence-based medicine, chronic disease management, and women's care.

Amazing staff and all worked very efficiently. Dr. Jeffers has a very warm personality and felt very comforted and less nervous once she came in. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience as a new patient and recommend Dr Jeffers to anyone needing a tooth extraction done, or any service rather. I will definitely be making my next appointment with them and transferring my file over. Great job, HEART CITY DENTAL!!

Absolutely the worst place to go! If you have a dental emergency dont plan on being seen by them anytime soon. Months out for an appointment when i called crying with a horrible toothache. Its September u cant see a regular patient therebuntil end of oct. Pretty sad and very upsetting

This is for the Spanish folks. If your American they don't want you here. I came in on a emergency visit because they told me on the phone to come in at 845am and they would get me out of pain. The lady at the desk was rude. They didn't get me out of pain.

I had a good experience there for a cleaning, so I decided to do a few more appointments for my transplant evaluation. I needed a tooth pulled, and the dentist sent me to a surgeon that didn't take my insurance. Then, when I called him back, he never responded. I decided to go see another dentist because of that, but my tooth got infected before I was able to get in to see this dentist (I have dental anxiety). I decided to try them again to see if this time was different. Nope. I was scheduled for a Monday and spent the weekend in pain. I got there for the appointment and found out they scheduled me for a walk-in appointment. The lady was rude when asking why it was taking 2 hours for my appointment, so I walked out.

My first visit was great and informative. staff seemed very kind. I wasn't waiting long in the waiting room, which is a huge plus. Only downfall is since I'm a new patient I have to do 3 different appointments, rather then maybe 1 or 2. But, overall so far I like the office (super clean), and staff. Update, NOT only does it take several appointments for cleanings and fillings but, when I was getting a filling I was having an allergic reaction and issues breathing..I did the distress signal, and the lady ignored me. Finally I sat up and took the piece out of my mouth and told her to stop. I ended up having an anxiety attack as well. I left abruptly and was trying to drive myself to MY doctor's office to be evaluated, only to have to pull over and be rushed to ST. Joe Med in Mishawaka..Because, of difficulty breathing and throat swelling.. Come to find out, I'm allergic to Lanacane and she numbed me too far back. Not only was the lady rude, but she never noticed my distress signal and had said, we can do laughing gas, and I have about 10 to 15 minutes left!! I'm in distress, why would I want laughing gas, and why wouldn't you STOP the procedure?? I never went back after that, and will NEVER GO BACK..The gentleman (Dentist) was amazing, but his Assistant that day, ruined it for me.

I can't say enough good things about this office! I have never had a bad experience with any of the staff or services I have received. I've been a patient for over 6 years and will not be going anywhere else! The office accepts a variety of insurance plans as well as a sliding scale.

Theres a lot I could mention about the staff there was one great girl that brought me back to the seat but that's about it nobody was rude ever not that I recall but I had some bad experiences there and I won't come back. Long story below I had bad dental work done there was two girls there one was my primary dentist at this area and then another was newer they both messed up my filling that day I couldn't bite down properly didn't even get a bite test to see if it needed smoothed down more since I was numb and I couldn't tell when I got home I couldn't bite down properly at all since it was just so much filling there had to wait went back that day again tried getting it fixed it was still messed up even after that so then I went back again and it was smoothed down to much that it caused pain plus at times when trying to smooth it down it also got my good parts of my teeth that didn't need work done at all and I've just been going elsewhere since then.

I've been going to Heart City Dental for 10 years. Never have had a negative experience. The new facility is a huge upgrade. Recently I came for a yearly cleaning and had the most pleasant hygienist. Scheduling has been harder due to Covid, but that's nothing to complain about. They've been handling the pandemic very well! The staff here is always friendly!

VERY UN ORGANIZED!!! they change you appointment THEN call you the day before? The also constantly have to reschedule you because they DOUBLE booked? Are you kidding me this place is a joke.
