Dr. Shilpa is aBoard Certified Pediatric Dentistwho calls the Fort Bend Area her home. She is an honors graduate of Columbia University, New York where she received her DDS degree and certificate for excellence in Pediatric Dentistry. Her passion to work with children and for children made her pursue her advanced training in Pediatric Dentistry at theColumbia University. During the Post- Doctoral Training her hospital rotations were at the prestigious New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York where she received specialized training in all areas of childrens dentistry.
After her residency she decided to move to Katy, Tx with her husband and make it her home; currently residing in Cinco Ranch with her husband Dr. Amito Chandiwal and kids Abhiddyu and Anuvie. Both Dr.Shilpa and her husband believe in giving back to the community and are active in worldwide efforts like participating in an outreach program in Jamaica with Health Care International serving under-privileged children in this impoverished country.
Dr. Shilpa is a member of National Dental Honor Society,Omicron Kappa Upsilonwhich chooses its member based solely on merit and academic excellence in the field of dentistry. Dr. Shilpa is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry andCollege of Diplomatesof theAmerican Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Cindy Hurd discovered her passion for dentistry at a young age. Growing up, she was afraid to speak due to lack of confidence in her smile. After several visits with her orthodontist and dentist, her life was changed forever. Dentistry transformed a young, shy person to a girl overflowing with confidence. She made a promise to devote her time to help children overcome any dental fear and problems. Dr. Hurd earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston with highest honors. She then received her doctorate from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. She is dedicated to advance, postdoctoral study and provides her patients with a caring and gentle approach to oral health. Following her belief in giving back to the community, Dr. Hurd has volunteered and participated in numerous events including Give Kids a Smile and the San Jose Clinic. Dr. Hurd and her husband reside in the Richmond area. They have a 2-year-old Schnauzer named, Gus Gus. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, eating everything and cheering for her favorite sports teams (Houston Cougars and Houston Texans). She is a member of American Dental Association (ADA), Texas Dental Association (TDA), Greater Houston Dental Society (GHDS), American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), and Houston Hispanic Dental Association (HHDA).
Dr. Shilpas staff was picked personally by her for their commitment to dentistry and more importantly their commitment to children. Each staff member is well-trained and experienced in serving the special needs that Pediatric Dentistry require. In addition each staff member is trained to handle in-office emergencies and can answer any questions regarding treatment and billing. Every staff member is dual trained to handle front and back office needs.
Maggie is a very efficient dental assistant who loves working with kids. She has been a dental assistant for over 20 years. She enjoys what she does. She is a mother of two kids and resides in New Territory with her husband. She loves to spend time with her family in her free time.

First time patients here, & we had a great experience. The facility is clean & well maintained. They are respectful with appointment times. The staff is super friendly, especially Lea! She's super sweet & patient! My son loved her. He had a great experience. & I felt very satisfied after his appointment.

The staff was very friendly, however, there were ants all over the floor, and I really did not like the profiling that the doctor did to me and my children. Will not be coming here again, and I will definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

I have been going to this dental practice for the past 10 years with my children. I moved over an hour away and still make the drive for every appointment because the quality and care from the staff is amazing. My kids love going to the dentist because of this office. I have never found another practice worth changing to. I will continue to go here for many years to come!

Coming To children office i was hoping I'd be friendly but that's far from it, front women asian were rude dismissive they were more concerned gossiping than answering my questions but Dr's and nurses were good

My family has been seeing Dr. Shilpa from when she opened her practice in Sugarland. She was my baby's first dentist and we haven't left. Not only are we like long time friends, she is knowledgeable and has a great bed-side manner with kids. Her office is well suited to cater for kids. Children look forward to going there because they feel at home. I am happy to see Dr. Shilpa's practice & great reputation grow in our community. Update: 10 Years in and we are still in love. The new office is bigger but the staff has remained grounded. Family looks forward to going to the dentist. Go figure!!!

Having a special need child to a dental office has not been easy for a parent and staff. I'm glad I chose The Healthy Teeth dentistry. They have been so supportive and caring no matter how busy or frustrated they seem to be in a process. I am very satisfied with the care rendered.

The staff here is amazing! My child really freaks out and they were great with her. Dentist was polite and patient. She dealt l with the crying and fighting and was still able to perform the procedure. Great place!
