After Dr. Flavin graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City Dental School, he returned home to St. Louis and has been practicing here ever since. Passionate about continuing education, Dr. Flavin has received advanced training at the prestigious L.D. Pankey Institute, The Dawson Center for advanced education, and The Spear Institute. His memberships include the American Dental Society (ADA), The Missouri Dental Society (MDA), The Greater St. Louis Dental Society (GSLDS), and The American Equilibration Society. Dr. Flavin served as the President of The Greater St. Louis Dental Society and was honored with the Award of Merit in 2006 for his many years of service to the profession.

Dr. Flavin is very invested in giving back to his community with both education and care. He is proud of his development of, and ongoing work with, Give Kids A Smile in St. Louis, a not-for-profit organization that provides comprehensive care for underserved children. He has served as Vice President and President since its inception in 2001, and he is especially proud that the ADA has taken the concept to a national level, as its premier access to care program.

Dr. Flavin has also served as a board member and President to the Delta Dental Health Theatre of St. Louis. The theatre has served as an educational program for preschool aged children for over 35 years.

Says Dr. Flavin, I have been humbled by the generosity and compassion of my colleagues as they strive to serve the needs of our community. The profession of dentistry has been a great blessing in my life for which I will always be grateful! Its greatest reward is the relationships I have developed with my patients, family, and friends

Dr. Seaton graduated from the University of Missouri, Kansas City in 1982. He is one of an elite group of highly dedicated dental professionals who have pursued their continuing education at some of the most prestigious facilities in the country.

Dr. Seatons continuing education has included specialized courses in aesthetic and restorative dentistry, and occlusal (bite) treatment at the Kois Center and the Pankey Institute. His training at the Dawson Academy has focused on diagnosing and treating disorders of the temporomandibular joint (TMD/TMJ), the techniques of splint therapy, and treatment of symptoms of sleep apnea.

Dr. Tarah Ridenbark-Crews is from the small town of Staunton, Illinois where she grew up on a farm raising various animals and growing crops. She has a wonderful, large family of two older brothers and two younger sisters. And she has recently been promoted to auntie! As a child, she enjoyed trips to the dentist and knew thats what she wanted to do. She received her Associates of Applied Science from Lewis and Clark Community College, Bachelors of Science in Biology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine.

During dental school, she was able to provide many hours of community service and education, and she continues to volunteer in the community to this day. She also had the opportunity to attend a mission trip to Jamaica, where dental care was provided to thousands of people in need. She intends to volunteer for more missions trips in the future. Dr. Ridenbark-Crews enjoyed following in the footsteps of Dr. Flavin by participating in the Give Kids A Smile organization.

Dr. Ridenbark-Crews exclaims, What I like most about dentistry is the ability to communicate with and educate my patients about their dental health and improving their oral condition. I pride myself in being an accessible and personable professional, dedicated to the care of my patients. Dr. Flavin has been a wonderful mentor to me during my time at Healthy Smiles. Not only has he taught me about dentistry, but his compassion toward each and every patient has made a huge impact on how I practice dentistry. I intend to follow the same practice philosophy and treat each patient as family, just as he has done for many years.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling. Shes a big fan of the Harry Potter book series, Taylor Swift, and the St. Louis Blues. Most of all, she loves spending time with her dog, Doc, and husband, Tyler.

Dental implants offer patients who have lost teeth a strong, healthy, and attractive option to replace them. Implants go back as far as the Mayan civilization, where tooth-shaped pieces of shell were placed in the jawbone. Modern dental implants have come a long way since then!

Now most implants are made of titanium. The implant itself is surgically placed into the jawbone by one of our local, trusted specialists. This post replaces the root of the missing tooth, and your bone will bond to the post. Once the post has healed, one of the doctors at Healthy Smiles of St. Louis will place a cone-shaped abutment on top of the implant, and a customized porcelain crown is cemented to the abutment. The result is a natural-looking tooth replacement that will sustain bone tissue and function just like your own teeth.

All of the dental services at Healthy Smiles of Saint Louis are tailored specifically to each patient, with a wide range of treatment options provided. Dr. Flavin uses the highest-quality implants from well-respected manufacturers. There are more than 100 variations of implants that Dr. Flavin can select so that your implant is precisely fit for strength and durability.
