Born in Holland, Dr. Albers family relocated to Berkeley in 1958. He attended two years at Santa Clara University majoring in mathematics before graduating from UC Berkeley in 1973 with a degree in biochemistry. While attending UCLA Dental School, he did research, worked in community dental programs, served as student body president, and graduated with numerous awards, including many for leadership and public service.
Dr. Albers completed a general practice residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Francisco. He taught fixed prosthodontics at the University of California Dental School in San Francisco and taught operative dentistry at the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. In 1987, he later limited his teaching to postgraduate dental education.
Dr. Albers has written several dental texts and lectured extensively on cosmetic dentistry, tooth-colored restoratives, direct and indirect veneers, bonded posterior restorations, fixed prosthodontics, temporization, impression techniques, and other aspects of clinical dentistry. His best selling text, Tooth Colored Restoratives, widely acclaimed as the most comprehensive clinical text on cosmetic and adhesive dentistry, is in its eighth edition and has been translated into two foreign languages.
Dr. John Rich has been practicing general dentistry in Santa Rosa since 1988. A graduate of UCSF School of Dentistry in 1980, he accepted a position in Switzerland, where he ran a mobile dental clinic performing all phases of general dentistry, as well as hospital, handicapped and geriatric dental care. Upon his return, he practiced in Santa Cruz for five years before relocating here in Sonoma County. He takes great pride in his family oriented practice, emphasizing strong personal service and relationships with his loyal patients. Dr. Rich has been married to his wife Patricia for 26 years. She has been a school teacher here in Santa Rosa for 19 years. His daughter lives and works in San Francisco. His son attends UC Berkeley. Dr. Rich enjoys skiing, tennis, cycling and volunteering in sports related activities.
Dalia is a graduate of Santa Rosa Junior College Dental Hygiene Programs class of 2005 the 4th class in the nation. She holds a dental hygiene license with expanded duties in local anesthesia, nitrous oxide sedation, and soft tissue curettage. Dalia has been loyal to Sonoma County, living and working here since she came from Lithuania in 1995. She is a mother of two wonderful daughters, and still finds time for her special interests dancing and teaching jazzercise. Im honored to be a member of Dr. Albers dental team. Michelle is a Sonoma County native. She is extremely serious about dental hygiene, and is committed to her patients care and comfort. Michelle attends regular advanced educational courses to stay updated on the most modern dental hygiene techniques and therapies. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association, the California Dental Hygiene Association, and the San Francisco Dental Hygiene Society. She currently holds a dental hygiene license with expanded duties in local anesthesia, nitrous oxide sedation, and soft tissue curettage. She is also certified in laser periodontal therapy. Outside of the office, Michelle enjoys spending time with family, friends and fianc, Willam. Her health regimen includes jogging, and volleyball.
Stacey has been working in the dental field since she was eighteen and in this office since 2004. Stacey is our Scheduling Coordinator and is an expert at keeping everything running smoothly. She is also our interior decorator and can be credited with the warm, inviting look of our newly remodeled office. Stacey enjoys helping our patients and providing critical support to our professional team. Ariel Vinas graduated from the University of Puebla Mexico in 1990 with his BDSC Dental Degree. A year later, he came to the United States and obtained his licensing as a Registered Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions and worked for the same office until coming to join Dr. Albers professional team in 2010. Im honored to be working with the Dr. Albers team. Being here provides opportunities for me to continually learn the newest techniques in dentistry. I enjoy helping patients with their dental care, says Ariel. Ariel and his wife, Claudia, have two sons, Nico and David. They enjoy family activities like trips to Stinson Beach and hiking the Howarth Park trails. Ariel also does volunteer work with a clinic in Baja providing underprivileged children with preventative dental care.
Yvonne is a Registered Dental Assistant and has been working in the dental field for over five years. Yvonne has experience in both the front office, helping with administrative duties, as well as in the back office, assisting with patient care. She is currently expanding her knowledge by working with our in-office periodontist. Dr. Jay is helping her learn about tissue and bone grafting as well as placing implants and other gum related treatment. Im very proud to be part of Dr. Albers dental team.
