Sandra Onukwugha, DMD, is a passionate cosmetic dentist who takes pride in giving her patients the best possible care. She provides attentive dental services to patients at Healing Smiles, located in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
In dental school, Dr. Onukwugha was inducted into the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic honor society, and received several awards, including the Dr. Uriel Gunthorpe award for her leadership and dedication to the advancement of dentistry. She was also involved in many organizations, including the Student National Dental Association, where she served as Secretary, then President. Through various programs, including orientation leadership, Gateway to Dentistry, and Decision to Dentistry, Dr. Onukwugha provided insight and mentorship to first-year dental students, as well as high school and college students. Shes passionate about giving back to the community and has been actively involved in many outreach events, including the Indian Health Service, which provides free dental care to Native Americans on a Navajo reservation in Arizona.
Patients love Dr. Onukwugha's friendly demeanor, gentle touch, and calming chairside manner. She is highly competent in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, and is dedicated to continuing to provide dentistry and up-to-date care for her patients through her ongoing participation in continuing education courses. She is Invisalign certified and an active member of the New Jersey Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

I started going to Dr. Sandra last year, and my experience has been excellent. The office is clean and beautiful, and the service is great. Dr. Sandra is very thorough and educates me about proper dental care. She makes me feel very comfortable. I feel like I am at a spa for my teeth every time I visit Dr. Sandra! Truly one of the BEST.

This was an amazing experience. I have never said that about a dentist visit. The ambiance was relaxing and calming. I have honestly avoided the dentist out of fear and I made the right decision by choosing to go to Dr. O. Making an appointment : Online, seamless and simple. Arrival : The office is beautiful and very up to date. The Visit : Dr. O is thorough and she explains everything. I've had comprehensive exams in the past but this by far was the most concise visit. After the Visit : You leave with all the info you need pertaining to your next visit, insurance and other questions or concerns that may come up. I am forever grateful and would suggest Healing Smiles to anyone in search for an amazing Dentist.

Shoutout to my first painless crown! I was pleasantly surprised at how gentle Dr. Sandra was with my teeth. She is super attentive to everything I was telling her before, during and after my procedure. This was my 4th Time in the New Brunswick office and so far I haven't had a wait time over 5 minutes. The front desk staff is very kind and the facility is super clean and tranquil. I plan to keep coming

Dr. Sandra was so thorough. She explained everything to me and did not rush the visit. I went there for a problem visit and she was able to fit me in for a cleaning as well. She actually made going to the dentist a good experience.

Just had a dental exam and cleaning with Dr. O today and let me say, my mouth and teeth feel amazing! Aside from her professionalism and super friendly energy, she was very thorough in her examination, cleaning and instructions for after-care of my teeth. I'll be honest, I haven't had a great cleaning in the way she did it in a very long time. Dr O was very assertive and intentional in her approach in delivering the best oral care, assuring that I left her office with my teeth in better condition that I came. My husband also visited her last week and share the same sentiments. It was pretty tough to find a dental office that accepted my insurance, so I was glad that I found one that does and gives such exceptional care.

Dr. Onukwugha has a beautiful office and she has very gentle hands. I've had numerous problems with my teeth and she made me feel comfortable to go through each necessary step in the case plan. She's efficient, transparent with what you will need, and easy to communicate with. I was able to book an appointment with ease right on the Healing Smiles website.

It is a beautiful office, clean, cozy, and inviting. The care was amazing and she was able to help pinpoint the problem within minutes. Cant wait to bring my two kids!! Best dentist experience ever!
