Dr. Joe graduated from the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry and completed his Pediatric Dentistry Residency and a Master of Science degree at Loma Linda University. He majored in history and chemistry at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. Dr. Joe successfully completed the examination process and is board-certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is the treasurer for the Clark County Dental Society and the Oregon Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Joe has traveled to Mexico and Guatelmala with medical and dental missionary teams, and is learning Spanish. Dr. Joe continues to volunteer his time locally by working in the Free Clinic's mobile dental clinic van.
Dr. Joe is married to Erinne who also practices dentistry. Together they have three children, Thomas, James and Cate who share their household with their beloved, mischievous dog: a lab named Fenway. Dr. Joe is active in sports, especially running, scuba diving, biking, and is an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He studied piano from an early age through college and enjoys classical music.
We cultivate a relationship with each of our patients, which not only ensures better childrens dental care, but also turns a visit with our doctors and team into a visit between friends. Our team members look forward to enjoying a long-term relationship with both you and your children.
Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of service. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.
We accept payments by cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Please ask a member of our staff, and we will review our payment options to accommodate your financial needs. If special arrangements are needed, please talk to our office manager prior to receiving service.
Although we participate with most major dental insurances, it is difficult to participate in all insurances. We welcome you to our office even If we are out of network with your insurance. With many out of network plans, there is often little or no difference in the out of pocket expense going out of network with our office. We are happy to discuss all of these options with you.
During your first visit to our office we want to take the time to get acquainted and gather information. This includes a thorough examination and possibly taking x-rays we feel may be required to make a complete diagnosis. At this time we will also discuss with you the nature of any necessary dental care.
We have ways of explaining procedures to children, being honest and presenting it in a manner that will not frighten them. If your child asks, will it hurt? We feel it is wise to say that Dr. Lubisich is your friend and will be very gentle with you. Avoid phrases such as it wont hurt and that wasnt so bad. We want your child to have positive memories of going to our office.
A childrens dental specialist like Dr. Lubisich are a practitioner who, after becoming a general dentist (often called a family dentist), has completed an additional two years of post-doctoral training in the recognition and treatment of childrens dental services. Specialty education includes child psychology, behavior guidance, preventive techniques, restorative dentistry, orthodontics, sedation dentistry, and the treatment of children with special needs. Both of our doctors are certified pediatric dental specialists.
A thorough exam will be done to evaluate the health of your childs teeth, gums and mouth. Dr. Lubisich will evaluate your childs growth and development and check to make sure your childs oral development is on track. Our office will make child-specific recommendations for the need of sealants, fluoride and other services based on your childs individual needs and habits.
By working with the natural growth instead of against it, we can prevent problems from becoming worse, and give your child or teen a lifetime of healthy smiles! Studies have shown that people who have straight teeth are more likely to smile more. This leads to a greater self esteem which may lead to a more fulfilling life.

My boys have been going to Dr. Joe for a few years although i am not always able to accompany them they and my husband like the clinic very much. I did get the opportunity to go to their visit yesterday and Dr. Joe handled all my questions and concerns with true understanding and care. I felt completely listened to and at ease with our future treatment plans. He also said my oldest boy Greyson had the cleanest teeth he had seen all day which gave him so much pride. Thank you to the whole staff you make going to the dentist a real treat!

Nash had a great experience at the dentist! The office is very clean and very welcoming for children, with fun toys to keep them occupied in the waiting room. My son loved the fish tank as well. Everyone that works there is extremely pleasant and informative. You can tell they enjoy their jobs and care about the kids. We look forward to our next visit.

We could not be more pleased with this dental office and team! I'm so glad I found them and made the switch for my boys. I worked in the dental field for 9yrs and I can confidently say they do an exceptional job. They're so kind, patient and thorough. Both of my boys feel comfortable and safe, as do I! We could NOT have a better dentist. And dental hygienist . My son broke his adult tooth and Dr. Joe came in and fixed it on Christmas Eve! I could have cried... Such a kind and professional team they have. From the front desk with Glee to the end am always pleased. My son has seen Dr. Joe since he was very young and we discovered he had a lot of anxiety in going to the dentist. Dr. Joe not only cares about my son's teeth, but also cares about his activities and interests. He always makes time to fix his front teeth his cap comes loose. Although both my children are now college age, we plan to stay with Dr. Joe as long as he will see them. The entire team is amazing at Hazel Dell Dentistry and they take good care of our family needs!

Dr. Joe and everyone who works at the office are wonderful. They're so knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. The office is clean and has toys, a fish tank, and videos to entertain the kids while they wait. My kids actually look forward to going to the dentist. The only problem is that it's hard to get them to leave after the appointment! Thank you, Dr Joe and staff.

Dr. Joe is the BEST DENTIST EVER! We have seen him since my son was 6 months old (he is now almost 6) and I just took my youngest son to see him for the first time. He is so patient, kind, and gentle with the kids. He is also patient with me. I have had a massive fear of the dentist my whole life and am determined to not let my boys see this. I want them to enjoy (or at least not fear) their appointments. He did two fillings on my son Hayden a few months ago, and to this day my son has no idea. He thought they were just looking at his teeth. That is AMAZING!!! He actually looks forward to seeing Dr. Joe. Thank you Dr. Joe and team. You are all wonderful!
