Dr. Moon is a native of Virginia. He completed his undergraduate studies at the nearby George Mason University studying Bio-Chemistry. He then went back to his hometown of Richmond to get his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at Virginia Commonwealth Universitys school of Dentistry. He spent his time in dental school doing extensive research ranging from bone growth and development, to bonding agents used in the field of dentistry. Having published numerous research articles, Dr. Moon provides our patients with the latest techniques and the most up to date standards in the field of Dentistry. By providing procedures such as root canal therapy, simple and complex tooth extraction, crowns and bridges, simple and complex fillings, pediatric dentistry, dentistry for special needs patients and implant restorations, Dr. Moon helps us provide a more complete dental experience. He stays up-to-date with the latest techniques and always creates an upbeat working environment.
In his spare time, Dr. Moon loves spending time with his friends and family. Dr. Moon also loves to educate people about his profession and takes every opportunity to do so ranging from giving lectures at George Mason University about tooth trauma to mentoring young students that are trying to also enter into the dental profession.

This office is great. Dr Moon is awesome. You can literally feel the positive energy when you are there. Not like other offices that are dull. All the people are so nice from the drs to the hygienists to the front desk. They have never shown me an attitude even though I may ask a million questions. Also you can't beat the price for implants here. I was shocked.

If you need a crown put on a tooth, this is the place. They will put a crown on everything, from a small cavity to a previous crown. That is literally their answer to everything. The doctors do great precise work. The hygienist are awesome and very friendly. It's the "used car sales" girls that set you up for a unnecessary "treatment plan" you have to look out for. Every tooth that has been worked on with in the past few years goes in the "treatment plan" for a crown replacement.. Also, expect to wait for at least 30 minutes when getting seated in the chair to see the doctor.

I've been coming to this office for 16 years. It's amazing to see all the changes and updates this practice has undergone. They have four dentists practicing in the building and 15 client chairs, although they leave you with the feeling that you're the only patient that matters. They offer same day crown services and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. This is a state of the art practice that still has that home town feel.

This service provider is A#1. Far above and beyond any other service provider in the area. This is a 1-stop shop. All inclusive, in-house service provider. And I've used several over the past 40 years. Dr Moon is absolutely the best in the business, by far.

As a patient of 14 years, using the latest dental technologies, Drs. Vakay and Moon have replaced aging metal fillings with porcelain, installed new crowns as needed and detected decay issues before they became a problem. More recently, Dr. Vakay improved my smile with two amazingly beautiful and perfectly matched front teeth and Dr. Moon immediately completed painless root canal surgery to eliminate tooth sensitivity. don't apply there is you're too soft spoken , she kept telling me she didn't think i could do the job because i was " too shy " after sitting in silence because she couldn't come up with things to say during my interview. also told me she didn't want someone that asks many questions and also kept interviewing me for the job i didn't apply for. told me that this job doesn't work with dental patients after i was just telling her i wanted to go to school to be in dental but said it so condescending. i will not be working there and they can keep their snarky remarks to themselves .have a good day

Lily, the dental assistant that I first met, is the best, so energetic, compassionate, understanding, listens to my concerns very well and very knowledgeable. There was no questions left to answer after I saw her..then i saw dr moon, he gave me a great price for my emergency work, he's very down to earth and I feel so comfortable with him, good guy . My hygienist that I have now seen 3 times, Kim, is so gentle, and good conversation and knows her stuff as well. Best hygienist ever. Everyone, from the front desk and beyond is nothing short of amazing. Recommend absolutely!

I haven't had my teeth cleaned in over a year. Dr. Moon's staff makes you feel very safe. Constant cleaning and sterilization. Checked my temperature before going to room to start exrays and cleaning. Saturday hours are nice.Very friendly staff.

This is the best dentist you can go to in the Haymarket area. They were recommended to me by my sister in law and they are top notch. They were honest and accommodating. I recently had a tooth extraction and the experience was as pleasurable as a tooth extraction could be, haha. It was relatively painless, they followed up with me to ensure I was doing ok and it genuinely felt like they were concerned for my well being. They listened to my concerns and answered every one of them. Highly recommend
