Dr. Michael Mora graduated from Loyola University of Chicago, Magna Cum Laude, with a bachelors degree in Psychology in 1979, and then obtained his dental degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1983. Dr. Mike completed a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital after dental school where he gained extensive experience in Oral Surgery and Endodontics. In 2016, Dr. Mike received his Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Mike is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Illinois Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society.
Dr. Cheryl Mora graduated from Vanderbilt University, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and obtained her dental degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. She received her Mastership Award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2015. To earn the designation of Master in the AGD, Dr. Cheryl completed a structured and demanding set of requirements. She first became a Fellow in the AGD in 2013 by attaining 500 hours of continuing education and passing the AGD Fellowship Exam. She then completed an additional 600 hours of approved continuing education courses, including 400 hours of hands-on courses in the 17 disciplines of general dentistry. This achievement marked a significant milestone in Dr. Cheryls career, because the award demonstrates her long-term commitment to go above and beyond continuing education requirements to provide her patients with the most up-to-date treatment options and excellent patient care. In 2017, Dr. Cheryl received the AGD Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition and continues to attend over 100 hours of CE per year in all the areas of general dentistry with a concentration in restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry.
Dr. Cassie Mora went to the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana to complete her bachelor's in molecular and cellular biology. She then continued her education and received her dental degree at the University Of Illinois College Of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Mora was involved in the American Student Dental Association and various clubs where she volunteered in underserved communities around the city of Chicago.

Dr. Cassie is absolutely incredible as well as the whole entire staff! As someone whose always been super nervous about dental work this means so much to me. By working with Dr. Cassie I've realized my fear came from bad practices with previous dentists. She is extremely professional and was great at calming my anxiousness by walking me through every step of the procedure in a considerate way. If you're reading this review just stop reading and make your appointment here. If I ever move out of state id consider flying back and fourth just so I can continue going here for my dental work lol.

I've come here twice a year for 20+ years for a reason, HDA is amazing!! You walk in to a warm, welcoming environment led by the awesome front desk staff. All the hygienists are knowledgeable and fun to talk to, even with their hands in your mouth. My teeth are always thanking me for coming here, and I'm usually leaving with a smile from whatever dad joke Dr. Mike has for me that day. I definitely recommend going to Hawthorn Dental Associates for any dentistry needs.
