Meet Dr. Michael! His mission is to enrich the lives of family, friends, the team and our patients by providing optimal dentistry and opportunities for personal and professional successes. He has been in the dental field since 1997, where he began as an oral surgery assistant, working with his father. Upon entering college, Dr. Michael earned a double major in Biology (BS) and Chemistry (BA) at St. Louis University. He then attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry where he earned his DDS degree in 2006 and later earned his certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). Upon completion of his residency, he and Dr. Angela founded Hawk Ridge Dental Care where they have been serving the community since 2007. He is truly honored to be named since 2013 as a yearly recipient of the Top Doctor award as well as Most Honored Professional Award (top 1%). Dr. Michael serves as a Spear Study Group Leader. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with Angela and his 4 children, the cat and mini golden-doodle. He is a recommended black belt in Tae Kwon Do and enjoys outdoor activities of hiking and spending time in the pool during warmer weather. As a proficient cook, you can often find him in the kitchen making meals for his family and friends.

Meet Dr. Angela! Her mission is to create a patient centric experience for all her patients while serving not only her patients and team, but also the community. She has been in the dental field since 1998 starting as a front desk assistant then moving into orthodontic assisting. Dr. Angela was selected into the University of Missouri-Kansas City as a 6-year BA/DDS candidate. During that tenure, she earned her BA in Biology and her DDS degree and graduated in 2006. Following dental school graduation, Dr. Angela was selected for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program where she trained alongside the faculty dental professors at UMKC and oversaw numerous challenging dental cases that were referred to the residents. Once graduating from the residency program in 2007, Dr. Angela and Dr. Michael founded Hawk Ridge Dental Care with a goal of being the destination for oral health care in the region by being patient centric and providing optimal care for their patients. Dr. Angela is honored to be consistently awarded the Top Doctor award, Most Honored Professionals award. She is an active member of a Spear Study Club and participates in multiple continuing education experiences each year. As a mom of 4 children, most of her free time is spent with the family. She enjoys volunteering at the school, serving on the school board and coaching her children in softball and volleyball. As a family, the Pernouds enjoy doing Tae Kwon Do, traveling, playing with their animals and hanging out in the pool during the summer months.

Meet Laura, she has been in customer service for over 25 years and in the dental field for 2 years. She received her certification for dental assisting at the Center for Advanced Dental Assisting. She was inspired to work in this field to help patients get the care and treatment they need, while sharing her extensive knowledge to continue to educate our patience on their oral health. She also loves interacting, building relationships,and assisting with all patient needs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, trying new restaurants and watching her son play football on the weekends.

Meet Brooklyn, she has been in customer service for 5 years and in the dental field for 1 year.She is our main insurance provider and strives to provide you with the best coverage for your plan, and provide you with knowledge to best utilize your policy while under our care. She enjoys helping patients get the proper treatment for their personal needs, and getting to know patients while providing a patient centric environment. Outside of the office she enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, and loves shopping.

Meet Ginger, she has been assisting the dental field for 12 years. She knew from the moment she walked through her first dental office this was what she wanted to do. She began her education at Missouri College, where she completed the Missouri Basic Skills Exam. She then continued her knowledge by accomplishing additional certifications such as Nitrous Oxide, Expanded Functions, Fixed Prosthodontics and Restorative I. In her free time, she enjoys baking, coaching her daughters cheer squad, and spending quality time with her family.

Meet Kelsey, she has been a dental assistant for 3 years. She has always loved teeth and has a passion to help patients get the optimal smile they desire. She received her education at the Center for Advanced Dental Assisting and is looking to further her education to become an expanded function dental assistant (EFDA). In her free time, she enjoys playing softball and spending time with her friends and family.

Meet Savana, she has been a dental assistant for 3 years. Growing up she saw her father going to dental procedures and she was always inquisitive about the process. After graduating high school, she went on to further her education at Jefferson College, and later enrolled at the Center for Advanced Dental Assisting to further herknowledge in the dental field. She later received a certification in assisting with Nitrous Oxide, and is currently preparing to become an expanded functions assistant (EFDA).In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, playing softball, and swimming.

Meet Shealyn, she has been assisting in the dental field for 3 years and specializes in pediatric care. She received her education at the Center for Advanced Dental Assisting, and later received her certification in assisting with Nitrous Oxide. Shealyn herself was once fearful of the dentist which is what inspired her to want to be the change in this field and help kids work through their fears. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and teaching dance, while inspire young kids to express their creativity in all forms.

Meet Joy, she has been a dental hygienist for 36 years and counting, after her family dentist had suggested she enter the dental field. She received her education from St. Louis Community College with her degree, and furthered her education at UMKC to become certified to teach dental hygieneas well. She has continued her education over the years by also becoming certified in Nitrous Oxide and Infiltration anesthesia. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and participating in any outdoor activities.

Meet Terry, she has been a dental hygienist for 39 years. She became interested in the field as a teenager and after graduating high school decided she wanted to enter the dental field. She started as a dental assistant in an orthodontic office and later received a certification for dental assisting in 1981, and laterbecame a dental hygienist in 1983 with a degreefromSt. LouisCommunity College. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, canning and trout fishing.

Meet Tiffany, she has been in the dental field for 3 years. She has always enjoyed going to the dentist herself and finds oral health to be fascinating. She received her education from St. Louis Community College with an associate in allied health dental hygiene. She is also certified in infiltration of Nitrous Oxide. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and horseback riding.

Meet Mandy, she comes from a family who is passionate about the dental field.She has an uncle who is an oral surgeon, an aunt who is a dental hygienist and her mother was the office manager for a dental office for 30+ years. She has been practicing for 22 years as a hygienist with 26 years in the dental profession. She started her dental career as a dental assistant after graduating high school. She went on to complete herassociates degree, and decided she wanted to move on to become a dental hygienist. She attended Lake Land College for her degree as a registered dental hygienist. She continued her education and became certified in administering dental anesthetic. She enjoys getting to know her patients and working together to achieve their oral health goals through education and prevention. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children. She enjoys travelling with her family, decorating, shopping, planning parties and events, baking and reading a good book!
