Dr. Miyai has been setting the highest standards of excellence in orthodontics for over 5 years. Dr. Miyai earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and his dental degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he was honored with the title of valedictorian, as well as several other academic honors. Dr. Miyai then went on to complete a specialized post-graduate residency in orthodontics from Louisiana State University in New Orleans. After several years as an associate orthodontist, Dr. Miyai returned home to Hawaii to open his own private practice on Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island.
Dr. Miyai enjoys giving back to his community through charitable work via the Shriners Hospital for Children. In his spare time, he likes to read, work out, fish, hike, cook, and spend time with his family and friends.
A native Floridian, Dr. Alex earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Central Florida in 2012. He attended Nova Southeastern University, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2016. Committed to representing his colleagues, he served as the president of his class and executive president of student government for the College of Dental Medicine. As a result of his leadership, he was honored to receive numerous awards, including the prestigious College of Dental Medicine Student of the Year award. Following dental school, Dr. Alex attended a three-year postgraduate residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the Georgia School of Orthodontics.
Dr. Alex is a lifelong learner and stays up to date on progressive orthodontic techniques and procedures. Dedicated to the highest standards of care for his patients, he completed the optional board certification process and is an active Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. In his free time, Dr. Alex enjoys photography, aviation, hiking, fishing, fitness, playing a variety of instruments and spending time with family and friends.
