Dr. Camden Tokunaga is a second-generation dentist known for his comfort-conscious approach. He strives to make each visit as pleasant as possible, helping patients overcome the fear and anxiety of seeing the dentist. Dr. Tokunaga enjoys talking story and getting to know his patients, Its so nice meeting patients that say they saw my parents when they were kids, and not only are they still with us, they even bring their kids to see us as well.
Dr. Ashley Takiguchi loves seeing her patients grow from adorable, laughing little kids to dream-filled teens with healthy smiles. My goal is to create a positive and fun experience at a young age so that our patients enjoy seeing us, and consequentially, reduce their dental anxiety, she said.

As one of those who doesn't look forward to visiting the dentist I must say that my current experience was a good one. Nancy has been my hygienist on my last 2 visits and she has been terrific. 10/10! Thank you!

Dr. Brian Matsumoto and his assistant are kind and patient while giving excellent care and dental treatment. I am perfectly impressed and grateful. Blessings Be! And Edwin is perfectly wonderful as my dental hygienist.

My daughter went in for a routine procedure and procedure went as expected. The dentist that we usually see is no longer there and she saw someone else which is not a bad thing but we were not notified and that would have been nice. We also had to wait 45 minutes to be seen which was unexceptable! I think that peoples time should be seen as important especially when you have an appointment. I expect to be seen on time( I would say at least within 20 min) or at least told what is happening so I could have made other arrangements.

I had a very difficult experience removing my wisdom tooth. The dentist, who is a very large man, kept complaining that I am very small with a very small mouth. He had difficulty removing my tooth,. It broke and I had to make sure I did'nt swallow any of the broken pieces. It was not a good situation. I didn;t realize that ,until too late. I developed an infection and my mouth was very sore. Finally after a round of antibiotics, the situation resolved. I called to make a complaint, no one called me back. It was very difficult reaching the office manager, the only way complaints are registered. That has still not taken place.. S. Siegel

Landed in Maui with a cracked tooth and experiencing extreme pain, Hawaii family Dentistry handled my situation with the upmost professionalism. Great front staff and Doctor Cassandra did a incredible job removing a very stubborn tooth. I would recommend this clinic for all your needs. Scheduled or emergency.

Hawaii Family Dental is a well run dental office and they are so lucky to have Keith Yurevitz, fabulous hygienist, on board as part of their team. He is a dedicated, thorough and caring professional and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have him as my hygienist.

My grandson lost his retainer. We immediately called to either have them order another or get him in if needed in order to get a new one. They could not see him for three weeks. I asked if the retainer could be ordered in the mean time, they said no. I asked if we could be called if there was a cancellation, they said yes. Without the retainer his teeth started to shift back. I was not called for any cancellations, so our appointment came, we went in, he saw the dental tech for a whole 5 minutes after which we were told we would need to pay $600+ to replace the retainer, (ok i get that, we lost it we need to pay to have it replaced) Here are my issues: They could not fit him in any time with in that 3 weeks for a 5 minute appointment, they could not just order the retainer (but that is all they did at this appointment). The appointment, which I left work for was a waist of our time. His teeth have shifted, which we told them but they were unconcerned. Hopefully the new retainer fits. My confidence in Hawaii Family Dental is very low right now, this was not good service.

Hawaii Family Dental @ Queen Kaahumanu Center. Our Family had a last minute request for dental. They worked around our schedule and was able to see the Dentist in a couple days. With outstanding customer service Front desk agent Ashley Yap help us with a great attitude with the whole process. And went above and beyond with getting a signed Dentist note for School. Mahalo nui Ashley!!!

Very Disappointed in HFD's treatment of my emergency. Because of your survey outreach (interest in your clients/patients treatment), I have taken the liberty of dashing me response to you. Given that I have your 'Part C' (Dental Plan), I had an emergency on April 1, 2022 at your QKC branch because my front tooth cracked and appeared loose. This branch saw me, took an ex-ray and bonded the loose tooth ... the very next day the tooth, again, became loose despite my effort to only chew food in the back of my mouth--I was charged $200.00 for this procedure. For this emergency for my next appointment, I was given a consultation date for almost 4 months later, July 21, without any consideration for follow-up and/or fast track. I have been stuck with this loose tooth for almost 4 months now, and it has come out. What kind of service is this, as big as this dental service is in Hawaii. I am a senior and I receive this terrible service/treatment, initial charge with no satisfaction. George Rainey
