Dr. Camden Tokunaga is a second-generation dentist known for his comfort-conscious approach. He strives to make each visit as pleasant as possible, helping patients overcome the fear and anxiety of seeing the dentist. Dr. Tokunaga enjoys talking story and getting to know his patients, Its so nice meeting patients that say they saw my parents when they were kids, and not only are they still with us, they even bring their kids to see us as well.
Dr. Ashley Takiguchi loves seeing her patients grow from adorable, laughing little kids to dream-filled teens with healthy smiles. My goal is to create a positive and fun experience at a young age so that our patients enjoy seeing us, and consequentially, reduce their dental anxiety, she said.

I came to get my teeth cleaned this week. The hygienist was Shanice who did an excellent job at cleaning my teeth, giving me dental care advice, following up on some pain in my tooth, and setting up my next appointment. Mahalo Shanice and Hawaii Family Dental!

Was treated amazingly through my root canal, but when I rescheduled for a cap it became a nightmare We were first quoted a certain amount due to the insurance having a positive balance and that's what we expected to pay. I show up to have my procedure and the balance does not correlate to the previous invoice due to an insurer change over (no one's fault), nor do I have $400 to spend out of expectation. I rescheduled. Specifically taking off of work on a day that would cause no back flow from my absence. When I arrived the doors were closed and other patrons tried the door for several minutes. Upon calling another branch, I learned they were in an internal meeting and had neglected to put up a sign of let their waiting patients know of the delay. I was the first one to enter, sit, and watch as everyone behind me filed inside to the back. I had two insurances behind my dental and they quoted me at $850.00+ which was out. Of. Reason. Anyways I express my concerns to the main branch and was given ANOTHER rescheduling on the 29th of this month.....I just got a call saying my appointment was canceled, was put on hold for 15 minutes, and hung up on..... I'm scared of the dentist and really would have appreciated my same Dr. From my root canal, but the receptionist and health insurance coders are a joke..... I just wanted my tooth fixed

I have had so many great experiences at Hawaii Family Dental as a result of the friendly and caring staff, hygienists and doctors. They have been patient, flexible and personable. The office is clean, organized and aesthetically appealing. As a cancer patient, I have enough challenges. I am glad that my dental care is not one of them. I am so grateful for Hawaii Family Dental!

My dentist and hygienist are the best. Always personable, caring and know their job. I would recommend Hawaii Family Dental - Honolulu if you are looking for a dentist. You get reminders of your appointments, cost estimates of your upcoming appointment so you can be prepared or ask questions if needed and the front staff is always personable and helpful. It is easy to confirm your appointment or make changes if needed. There is validated parking available.

Upfront, honest, kind. These are the hallmarks of HFD. I went in for an urgent wisdom teeth extraction procedure and Dr. Brett Sterling made the procedure comfortable and quick. Staff was very kind, answered all of my questions, and met my every need post-op.

I temporarily relocated to Hawaii for work and decided not to use my time 'back home' visiting my dentist so did some research and scheduled an appointment with Hawaiian Family Dental. Was able to schedule an initial appointment within a week of my on-line inquiry and a follow up appointment within 2 days of the initial visit. Office is spacious, staff is friendly, process is efficient. Visits were completed in record time. Highly recommended
