Hawaii Dental Clinic was founded as a small, one-dentist office in 1983 by Dr. Roger T.L. Wong. From the beginning of the practice, Dr. Roger and his team were committed to providing high-quality care to all patients. Over the resulting decades, the office grew to accommodate multiple doctors, hygienists, and administrative staff.
Today, Hawaii Dental Clinic is a fully modern dental facility. We employ digital diagnostic equipment such as the Orthoralix DDE Panoramic system, Gendex digital sensors, intra-oral cameras, and an integrated system of X-Rays and patient charts. Current diagnostic tools enable our dentists and hygienists to identify the true source of dental problems and to accurately diagnose dental-related disease.
Although we have increased our office size over the years, our main office location has always been in the Kukui Plaza commercial plaza at the intersection of South Beretania and Bethel Streets. Our dental office location near Downtown and Chinatown enables us to serve a wide variety of patients who live and work near the heart of Honolulu.
Our front office staff is knowledgeable regarding all forms of dental insurance. We would be happy to analyze your current insurance and provide you with an estimate of cost prior to receiving treatment. For patients without insurance, our fees are set at a usual, customary, and reasonable amount determined by major dental insurance companies nationwide.

They are as good as cleaning. Would not recommend them for any extensive work such as a root canal. The instrument broke off inside my daughters tooth while "he" performed a root canal procedure. He seemed frustrated, couldn't extract the instrument after 2 hours of my daughter sitting in the chair, and then referring her to another dentist. Contacted them from my work phone because my daughter was still in pain after the procedure, and it seems the business professionalism and work ethics went out the window, because they ended up contacting my employer (guessing my work phone showed up on their caller ID) and threatening me with legal action stating that "I used my job position to gain personal information regarding a client"...So I'm appalled as my position had nothing to do with my concern for my child...so long story short..be careful, do your homework when seeking someone credible that specializes in specific care. Of course, remind your children to take care of their teeth to eliminate the need of extensive care!

The dentist had a good "chairside manner", so did the dental hygienist, the procedure for a crown prep involved minimal discomfort.

I have gotten my teeth cleaned twice at Hawaii Dental Clinic this year and both times I have been very happy with the service I received. They were on time, thorough, and professional. Accepted my insurance with only a small co-pay. Gina is an excellent dental hygienist.

I visited this dental office yesterday- as a first time new patient. Although, I was running late because I had trouble finding the exact location; I was very pleased that the staff was able to still provide services for a dental cleaning! The hygienist Allison was very thorough at explaining things that I requested only for her next time I am due for a cleaning. Dr. Kim was very informative, nice guy- who made me feel comfortable with his evaluation/feedback. Overall, a great experience and would recommend this business :)

I first got a deep clean by the hygienist, Allison, who was gentle, thorough, professional and kind. I felt at ease in her care. She did not cause me any pain once that was due to any negligent or unthoughtful movements. Although it was an intense deep cleaning procedure Allison did a fantastic job! The best dental cleaning I've ever had! Then I went back to get more work done following the deep clean. A root canal! Not what anyone is looking forward to - ever. Well, DR. Kim did such an amazing job - I actually did not feel a thing! And after the procedure I was convinced I would require pain pills! Well, I've never been more wrong. As my tooth and mouth felt much better after the procedure than before. Dr. Kim was respectful, diligent, gentle and skillful and treated me with dignity each visit I've had with him. And his assistants Nicole and staff are very patient and also skillful with these scary looking tools in your mouth. Not once did anyone make any mistakes at all let alone any that caused me any harm. Janette, the front desk one-woman-army, she's always courteous, professional, patient, and generates great rapport with the patients as they come in. Not just me. I've witnessed her ability to multitask while making sure peoples needs are met both on the phone and in the waiting area. She goes above and beyond to make all patients feel welcomed and appreciated. I'm very grateful to all who work here and look forward to building a healthy beautiful smile together! (My smile- it needs work. They've all got wonderful smiles!) and it's nice to be in an environment where staff members and teams are laughing and enjoying one another!

Best cleaning I have ever had. They are always on time and more affordable. I always appreciate their customer service as well. In the past I have had to have my x-ray sent to me and it was always done so promptly. Thank you for taking my insurance and such good care of me.

Everyone involved, in the experience does a their best to see to your needs. Starting with the receptionist, the technicians, the dentist and even the office manager work cohesively together to provide a calm, safe, painless experience. This places is the best to get the best care for your teeth. The dentist, hygienist and dental techs are all very professional and very gentile. You really need to take care of your teeth because they are the only part of your body that has not kept up with us evolutionary. You get your first tooth around 1 year old and then you loose all your baby teeth around 10 years old and your permanent teeth have to last the rest of your life. And we are living longer.
