Dr. Brian Hathcoat grew up in a military family and spent most of his youth in the Midwest. After graduating high school, he served in the U.S. Navy, then moved to California to attend U.C. Berkeley, where he earned a B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering. He worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory prior to attending dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, where he earned his DDS. Prior to joining the office of Dr. Sandra Gadwood, Dr. Hathcoat worked as a public health dentist for Contra Costa Health Services, primarily at the West County Health Center, and at a private practice in Alameda. He volunteers dental services regularly at the Berkeley Free Clinic, for CDA Cares, and is co-founder of Just Health 510, a nonprofit providing dental care for the homeless and underserved. Dr. Hathcoat is active in the Contra Costa County Dental Society. Dr. Hathcoat enjoys working with people of all ages and aims to make your dental visit comfortable and informative. He regularly attends continuing education classes and is constantly learning about current advancements in dentistry. In his free time, he enjoys many hobbies including cooking, golfing, cycling, reading, and cars.

Dr. Sandra Gadwood was born and raised in the east bay and graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco in 1977. She first set up her dental practice in Richmond, California, and moved to Pinole in 1984 and practiced with her husband, Dean Burget, until he retired in 2009. She has been at the current location in Pinole since 1998. She has advanced training from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in Cosmetic Dentistry, and is dedicated to providing the best dentistry she can to all her patients. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, The California Dental Association, and the Contra Costa Dental Society. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, from periodontal concerns to fillings to crown and bridge and implant crown placement. Dr. Sandra Gadwood and her husband Dean Burget, DDS have two wonderful sons still get together for family vacations to Oregon.

Cheryl | Registered Dental HygienistCheryl has extensive experience in the dental field, which has proven to make her a very well-rounded and proficient Registered Dental Hygienist. Starting in 2002 as a Front Office Coordinator, she continued her passion for dentistry by becoming a Registered Dental Assistant. In 2011, she fully realized her love for the dental field by becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist. It is very important to her that her patients leave satisfied with the quality care she has provided for them. Her attention to detail and commitment to improving her patients’ oral health are what make Cheryl an excellent Hygienist.
