'Five stars I scheduled a consult after seeing photos of Dr Freys cases with early development utilizing Invisalign. I also felt orthodontics should start early not late and I wanted the best for my 5yr old twins. I was blown away with Dr Freys clinical skills, understanding of sleep apnea in children, his updated technology and ability to do digital scans instead of impressions totally shows his education and expertise, but my biggest compliment was how well they treated my family. Dr. Bill Hatcher graduated from Kansas State University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. After graduation, he taught high school biology and chemistry for four years. He also coached football, basketball and tennis. During this time, he also served in the United States Army Reserves.
Deciding that a career change was in order, he graduated in 1994 from the Medical College of Virginia, Magna Cum Laude, with his dental degree. Dr. Bill Hatcher then completed two additional years of specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Detroit Mercy where he earned a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree.
Dr. Hatcher is Board Certified and Top 1% Invisalign and Invisalign Teen provider who has practiced orthodontics in Chesapeake since 1996. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Virginia Association of Orthodontists, the Tidewater Association of Orthodontics and the Seaboard and Portsmouth Suffolk Dental Study Clubs.
Dr. Scott Frey attended Washington University in St. Louis, majoring in Chemistry, before early admittance to the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He graduated in the top of his class and was inducted into the Tau Kappa Omega dental honor society.
Dr. Frey obtained his post-doctoral masters degree and completed his certification in orthodontics at the University of Colorado. He is board certified in orthodontics, a published scientific author, and an international authority and lecturer on Invisalign and esthetic orthodontics.
Between dental school and orthodontic residency, Dr. Frey held a faculty position at the University of the Pacific teaching dental esthetics and occlusion, and worked in private practice as a family dentist.
Dr. Frey is passionate about teaching, and is frequently invited to lecture to orthodontists around the world on behalf of Invisalign, Henry Schein Orthodontics, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, and numerous orthodontic associations. He has been extensively published as a scientific author, and is responsible for developing the treatment paradigms of Orthosculpture and Soft Tissue Orthodontics. Dr. Frey is a reviewer for the Journal of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Angle Orthodontist, and for his achievements in practice has been inducted as a Fellow to the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.

My son and I came in to the practice to review our options for orthodontic treatment and were met with such kindness and professionalism. Dr. Frey and his team were so welcoming and so great with explaining the process of treatment as well as making sure we had all the information we needed to make an informed decision about which type of treatment would best suit our needs. We are so excited to be under the care of this practice!

I went to Hatcher and Frey's Norfolk location and it was an amazing experience! When I walked into the door the building was so clean and everyone was very welcoming. They talked me through everything during my consultation and helped me with any questions I had. They are very kind and professional.

I went to Hatcher & Frey's Norfolk location and had an amazing experience! It was our first time in the office and they met and exceeded all of my expectations. Leah took each child back individually to get their records done. Then, she brought me back and explained in detail everything that they found, in a language that I could understand. When I initially came in, I was nervous and didn't know what to expect. Their friendly staff made me feel at home and I left excited for the next step!

I went in for my consultation and oh my goodness so clean and beautiful. The ladies there were so professional and delightful! The pretty lady that said I have a very pretty smile even tho I hated when I smile. She was so understanding and patient. All I need to do is get a really good deep cleaning put down my first down payment and I'm ready to go with my braces I'm ready to start this journey and I know they going to take care of me. I can't wait to come back soon so I can feel good about myself and my new smile

My visit on May 20, 2022 was a second opinion visit after being told that I needed braces and Invisalign's wasn't an option. However, after the consultation for Invisalign's with Dr. Hatcher, I was told that not only could I wear them with a gap but they were affordable than the braces at the previous orthodontist. When I first walked in, I was greeted with a smile and a warm hello. I was seen at the Norfolk location and was pleased with the cleanliness of the office. Dr. Hatcher was so pleasant and knowledgeable of the service I was interested in getting. I left the appointment very happy and I'm looking forward to starting the Invisalign's journey!

Hatcher and Frey were our "second opinion" after receiving an extremely pricey and intrusive opinion/treatment plan from another orthodontist. Leah and Doctor Frey made us feel comfortable and helped calm the anxiety we were feeling about our daughter's previous treatment plan. We're excited to move forward with her new, and less invasive treatment. Her new plan is also cheaper, and a shorter time overall. They also offer a killer payment plan, so that anyone can afford treatment.

I was recently referred to Hatcher&Frey by my children dentist. So far everything has been an awesome experience. My children enjoy the staff; they are very helpful and prompt with information and treatment. I really like the fact that they are very informative and patient with you. I am looking forward in working with them while both my children are being treated are their dentist office.

My child had a follow up appointment for Invisalign. Mrs. Niqua is professional, knowledgeable and kind. She was very patient with my child and showed her in detail how to put in and remove the Invisalign. She made her feel comfortable and answered all of our questions. Thank you for all of your help.
