'Five stars I scheduled a consult after seeing photos of Dr Freys cases with early development utilizing Invisalign. I also felt orthodontics should start early not late and I wanted the best for my 5yr old twins. I was blown away with Dr Freys clinical skills, understanding of sleep apnea in children, his updated technology and ability to do digital scans instead of impressions totally shows his education and expertise, but my biggest compliment was how well they treated my family. Dr. Bill Hatcher graduated from Kansas State University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. After graduation, he taught high school biology and chemistry for four years. He also coached football, basketball and tennis. During this time, he also served in the United States Army Reserves.
Deciding that a career change was in order, he graduated in 1994 from the Medical College of Virginia, Magna Cum Laude, with his dental degree. Dr. Bill Hatcher then completed two additional years of specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Detroit Mercy where he earned a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree.
Dr. Hatcher is Board Certified and Top 1% Invisalign and Invisalign Teen provider who has practiced orthodontics in Chesapeake since 1996. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Virginia Association of Orthodontists, the Tidewater Association of Orthodontics and the Seaboard and Portsmouth Suffolk Dental Study Clubs.
Dr. Scott Frey attended Washington University in St. Louis, majoring in Chemistry, before early admittance to the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He graduated in the top of his class and was inducted into the Tau Kappa Omega dental honor society.
Dr. Frey obtained his post-doctoral masters degree and completed his certification in orthodontics at the University of Colorado. He is board certified in orthodontics, a published scientific author, and an international authority and lecturer on Invisalign and esthetic orthodontics.
Between dental school and orthodontic residency, Dr. Frey held a faculty position at the University of the Pacific teaching dental esthetics and occlusion, and worked in private practice as a family dentist.
Dr. Frey is passionate about teaching, and is frequently invited to lecture to orthodontists around the world on behalf of Invisalign, Henry Schein Orthodontics, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, and numerous orthodontic associations. He has been extensively published as a scientific author, and is responsible for developing the treatment paradigms of Orthosculpture and Soft Tissue Orthodontics. Dr. Frey is a reviewer for the Journal of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Angle Orthodontist, and for his achievements in practice has been inducted as a Fellow to the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.

Wish I could give them zero stars. Waited 50 years to get my teeth straight after sending two of my kids to them, so $15,000 later and still not happy: ( too long of a story to type in Google reviews but just have zero confidence in this practice when my teeth have shifted so much.. regardless of the fact that I've been wearing my retainer every night since I got my Invisalign off in January.

The visit was quick and easy. They provided the right amount of information that I was looking for without being overwhelmed with the details. The first time I was in the office I was greeted by friendly staff. Dr. Frey is extremely passionate and patient oriented. State of the art technology was used to plan my treatment. This is my second time going trough orthodontics, now being an adult flexible appointment, cost of treatment and quality of treatment are very important to me. I am happy to be starting my treatment at Hatcher and Frey orthodontics!

My overall experience was WONDERFUL!!! Rickeal displayed great customer service and she was very knowledgeable about my treatment plan. She made me feel welcomed and very comfortable throughout my consultation. I will definitely refer coworkers, family and friends to Hatcher & Frey Orthodontics!!!

Mel made my 9yo daughter feel at ease and made her laugh throughout her (nervously anticipated) initial visit. The team made us feel welcome and explained every move throughout the appointment in a parent/child friendly manner. Their technology was amazing and so informing. Emily, the treatment coordinator, spoke directly to my daughter to make her feel comfortable. Dr Frey entered the room knowledgeable and personable. He was informative and realistic in my daughters needs. We have a follow up in 9 months to reconvene and discuss options as hopefully more adult teeth emerge.

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic! They're always on top of my son (7yo) and my Invisalign progress. I have been very diligent with keeping my son on track but have struggled a couple of times to keep up with my regimen. Hatcher and Frey have been nothing but patient with me and understanding of my circumstances. Thank you for all you do!!

Everyone we have come in contact with at Hatcher and Frye has made us feel a part of the care team and comfortable with the treatment plan. They are now watching our third child for possible intervention. Dr. Hatcher's clear communication with our dentist builds a strong relationship and clear goals. They do not force any unnecessary treatments: one child required braces, and the other was Invisalign. The office's adherence to scheduled appointment times is impressive! Everyone has been extremely friendly, but today I want to give a special shout-out to Kaila. Our usual office is Taylor road. Today we were greeted by Kaila at the Cedar road location. I thought it would be difficult to match our experience at Taylor Rd, but Kaila's warm, inviting personality and assistance should not go unnoticed! Thank you!

Very clean and professional inside with a super friendly staff (even at 7 am in the morning). I went in for what I thought was the first evaluation for braces or Invisalign; instead, we got the whole process mapped out and ordered. Impressed with the 3D technology they were able to use to scan and map my current teeth alignment, before/after pics of previous patients, and the ability of the doctor and Emily (treatment coordinator) to connect with me in a manner that let me know I wasn't just another number to the practice. Highly recommend ... especially for those of us no longer in our teens who still need/want orthodontic care!
