Hartland Smilemakers does not participate in Health Management Organizations; however, we will be happy to file your insurance claims for you. We accept checks, cash or credit cards. We also offer a flexible payment plan. Please see our Financial Coordinator for details. We are happy to file insurance for your reimbursement as long as you are free to choose your own dentist.

Dr. Chris McDaniel joined his father at the Hartland Smilemakers in 1999. A graduate of Southfield Christian High School, he went on to study at Calvin College and the University of Michigan Dental School, where he earned his DDS, graduating seventh in his class. Dr. Chris has taken numerous classes in Crown & Bridge, Implant Placement and Restorations. He was a member of BNI (Business Networking International) in the Hartland Chapter for10 years. Dr. Chris and his wife, Betsy, have two boys, Trevor and Connor. Raising a family and actively serving in the church and community are very important to both of them. He has coached both of his sons basketball teams and enjoys skiing with them as much as possible.
Dr. Kerwinjoined the Hartland Smilemakers in June of 2021. Dr. Kerwin grew up in West Bloomfield, Michigan and attended Michigan State University, where he graduated with a degree in Finance. After working in finance for two years, he decided to return to school to pursue a career in health care, his true passion. He was accepted into Northwestern University where he completed a post-baccalaureate degree in pre-dental and then graduated dental school from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He is passionate about helping patients with all of their dental needs including restorations, crowns and bridges, root canals, Implants, Invisalign and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Kerwin is an advocate of continued education and is always trying to keep up with the latest trends in the field, to better treat his patients needs. In his free time Dr. Kerwin enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching and playing sports and traveling.
Dr. Ken McDaniel began practicing dentistry in Hartland, Michigan in 1975. He grew up in Livonia and is a graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Detroit, and his DDS atthe University of Michigan Dental School where he graduated with high honors and was a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Prior to setting up a practice, he served as a dentist in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. He and his wife, Jane, are the parents of three sons: Tim, Chris, and Jonathan. They are also the proud grandparents of five grandkids. The VINA Clinic in Brighton has appreciated the time he has volunteeredto help them. He was also part of a team that helped both an orphanage in Guatemala and the underprivileged in Detroit. He has alsoworked with the Mission of Mercy. He enjoys golf and continues to be active in community and church activities.
Michelle I joined the Hartland Smilemakers when I moved back to the area in 2002. I help the doctors in the everyday running of our office. I love what I do and enjoy the interaction with the patients and staff. My hobbies include horseback riding, travel, friends and family (especially the grandkids), and the great outdoors.
Our dental hygienists help to maintain healthy teeth and gums. By educating patients on how to obtain optimal oral health, the patients can achieve a goal of improved over-all health along with a healthy smile.
Kim L. I joined the Hartland Smilemakers' teamin May of 1990. I have lived in the Hartland area since 1977 and enjoy serving this community. As a Registered Dental Hygienist of the Hartland Smilemakers, I clean and polish the teeth and educate my patients in oral health for optimal overall health. I work hard at making your visits comfortable and fun (I love to laugh). When not in the office, I love spending time with my family and friends, playing golf and volunteering.
Kim F. I joined the Hartland Smilemakers in 1998. I have two children who go to Hartland schools and are involved in sports. I love getting to know my patients personally as well as taking care of their dental health. My interests include spending time with family, gardening and watching my kids play sports while socializing with the wonderful families.
Tiffany -I'm excited to be a member of the Hartland Smilemakers. Since graduating from the University of Michigan, I have enjoyed my career as a dental hygienist. I strive to deliver the most comfortable experience that I can for all patients. I have lived in Hartland for 16 years with my husband and 3 daughters. I enjoy camping with my family & travelling.
Shannon I am a hygienist at Hartland Smilemakers. When a person comes to see me, they can expect me to clean and remove stain from their teeth. More importantly, I will evaluate a person's oral health with the help of x-rays, intra-oral camera and various measurements. Then I work with a person to developa plan to help that person reach optimum oral health.
Krista I am excited to have found my dental 'family' at HSM after perfecting my career for 23 years. I truly believe it is important to maintain a healthy gateway to help keep your entire body in tip-top shape. As your dental hygienist I take pride in being thorough yet extremely gentle and approachable to discuss and concerns you may have. We work together to make your smile the best it can be. Living in Milford we enjoy watching our two boys play travel soccerand participate in the HS robotics program. Long walks with our akita fills in the spaces between work and play.
Our dental assistants are a vital member of the dental health team. They help to make the patient as comfortable as possible in the dental chair, preparing them for treatment and assisting the dentist chair side.
Lori - I am a dental assistant and joined the Hartland Smilemakers in 2003. Ienjoyspending time with my family and all myanimals, camping and bonfires. I try to make people feel at home and reassure them we will be able to take care of all their concerns.
Lorna - I joined Hartland Smilemakers in 2019 bringing decades of experience. I enjoy being part of the HSM team and look forward to expanding my dental knowledge. Outside of HSM I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring Michigan, reading and cooking. I live in Brighton with my hubby and 2 cats.
Karen- I've been with the Hartland Smilemakers since 1997. I love hanging out with my hubby, golfing, boating, travelling in the U.P., playing with the grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. I love what I do! Our patients are the best and make it easy to smile everyday!
Emma -I have been a part of the front desk team since November 2021. It has been a blessing becoming part of the HSM family! I enjoy spending my free time out in the sun and on the water with my friends and family.
Farrah -My name is Farrah. I am very happy to be a new addition to the Hartland Smilemakers. I can not wait to see what the future holds. I have been happily married to my husband Duane for 21 years and counting! I am a mother of 3 wonderful kids. I enjoy kayaking and camping in my spare time, along with spending quality time with my rescue pitbull named cookie.
