Dr. Mika is a local resident, born and raised in Brighton. After high school, he attended the University of Michigan and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He attended dental school at the University of Detroit Mercy where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After graduation, he worked as a general dentist before returning to school to obtain a specialty degree in the field of orthodontics. He attended Indiana University and received his Master of Science in Dentistry and his Certificate in Orthodontics in 2015. He received American Board of Orthodontists certification in 2017. Dr. Mika has been practicing in southeast Michigan since 2015.

Great office, great staff, great doctor! We've had three kids receive orthodontic treatment from Dr. Mika and all have been good experiences. He is great with kids! Prices were comparable to the other offices we visited before settling on Hartland Orthodontics.

I loved my experience so much that I decided it would be great not to wear my retainer so I can come back in and have my braces put back on it because I missed everyone!! Do me a favor and wear your RETAINER. Once again I am very thrilled with the staff and Dr.Mika. 11/10 recommended you choose them for treatment!

I dropped my daughter off at the entrance to Hartland Ortho for her appt, and I stayed in my car due to the covid restrictions. As I'm playing a game on my phone, I see Dr. Mika come outside to talk to a parent who is also waiting in their car. When he was done talking & walking back into the building, I rolled my window down & asked him when he had started doing "car calls?" That right there shows what kind of doctor he is. He took the time to stop & talk to me, which I greatly appreciated, since I couldn't go inside. I am SO, SO please with the work they have done so far on my daughter's teeth, and I can't wait to see the end result! If you need an orthodontist, Dr Mika & his wonderful staff are waiting to help!!!

Dr.Abed was extraordinary!!! Sad to see her retire but also very happy for her! Hands down, I recommend this place to everyone thinking about getting braces for themselves or kids. Where to really begin? The staff is amazing the girls go above and beyond to help you. Even when money gets tight they go over payment plans with you to make sure you stay on track and get the proper care you need. I've had my braces with them since February 2016 i am finally in my home stretch!!! Not to mention Dr. Mika had huge shoes to fill and might i say he has really proven himself. super friendly and does amazing with the children always making them laugh and smile, hes also wonderful with the staff! I dont think they could have choosen a better doctor to take Dr.Abeds place !!! i am forever grateful to highland orthodontist for their love and compassion they show for everyone who walks through the door! choose them i promise you they will not let you down. xo
