Dr. Harter bought Dr. John Freezes practice in July of 2014. He is extremely excited to be back in his hometown practicing dentistry and giving back to the community he grew up in. He prides himself on treating every patient as if he were treating his own family to ensure a comfortable and relaxing experience. His experience, keen creative sense, and artistic eye lend themselves to outstanding results benefiting the patient a lifetime with brighter, refreshed smiles and added confidence. Dr. Harter and his professional teams gentle and caring ways lend themselves to an excellent and comfortable experience for the patient in a family friendly environment.
Dr. Harter was born and raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He graduated with his Bachelors in Chemistry from the Southeast Missouri State University. Dr. Harter received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Dentistry in 2012. He furthers his education by taking postgraduate courses and training to keep up with the perpetually changing dental field and technology. He offers the most technologically advanced state-of-the-art dentistry in restorative and cosmetic dentistry supported by the expertise of his highly trained, experienced team of dental professionals. He is highly respected and regarded by both his dental peers and patients. Dr. Harter is an active member with the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Missouri Dental Association and Southeast Dental Society.
Dr. Harter resides in Cape Girardeau with his wife Jamie and their two children Chase (4) and Addison (9 months). Outside the office, Dr. Harter enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, fishing, hunting, boating, golfing and Cardinals baseball.
As office manager, Jamies job is ensuring that the office runs smoothly and efficiently, promoting staff development and training, organizing office operations and procedures, and making sure patients always come first.

This office is terrible. Wait approximately 1.5mo. only to find out that I was told the wrong appointment date. When I called the woman told me 08-23 @ 2:15. (I wrote it down twice) They never called to remind/confirm this appointment closer to the date. I called on 8-23 to make sure I still had an appointment an was told it was 8-22.

Let me just say I absolutely hate going to the dentist. I get really nervous and my bp goes up, BUT today I had to get a cavity fixed/refilled. Dr. Harter and Carlie(not sure on spelling) were amazing! They both did a great job at explaining what was going to happen. They gave me the option to use nitrous if I needed it as they got further into it while making sure I was good and numb. He even gave me breaks inbetween. Let's just say I never needed the nitrous and I never felt any pain! He is also very gentle and not rough while working in your mouth. The front desk clerks are always super friendly and make you feel so welcome. I would refer anybody to them! Thank you so much Dr.Harter and team! Your kindness is greatly appreciated!

Always a great experience! The whole team is friendly, Nick is a great dentist. Most recently I took my 4 year old for her first cleaning and they were very pediatric friendly and gentle. She was so excited about her first appointment. Highly recommend!

They even call you to make sure of your appointment and if you cannot make it for any reason they will reschedule without any hesitation. The Dentist is the Best I've ever been to thus far. If you are new to the area are just in need of a Dentist Harter Family Dental is the place.

Absolutely the best dentist I've ever been to. He takes the time to answer all your questions, very friendly and professional. 100% pain free! Never even felt a pinch when he numbed my gums with the shots. I'm really impressed with my visit. I recommend him to anyone needing a dentist.
