Dr. Jamel McDuffie is a native of Durham, NC. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Howard University in Washington, DC.
Dr. McDuffie completed an externship at Harlem Hospital in New York City, NY and a General Practice Residency at the VA hospital in Palo Alto, CA. She served as dentist in a few offices in Cary, NC and at a medical/dental facility in Roxboro, NC. She also served as Dental Director at a medical/dental facility in Warrenton, NC. Currently, Dr. McDuffie operates her own private practice in Durham and Cary, NC.
She has been an active member of theNational Dental Association,American Dental Association,Academy of General Dentistry,American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Durham Academy of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy,American Orthodontic Society, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Hi, I am Retha, your Patient Care Coordinator. I have many years of experience in serving administratively in a dental office setting. My previous professional background includes 19 combined years serving as a preschool teacher and a kindergarten teacher assistant.
Hello, I am originally from Guatemala and moved to Florida with my family when I was 11 years old. I am a mom to two beautiful children. I am also a mom to a very furry German Shepherd who goes by the name of Maxx!
My husband and I moved our family to North Carolina around 2017 to pursue our professional dreams! This is why I am so excited to be your Office Manager. I love the field of dentistry and helping people. I also love to spending my time free time with family and eating a lot of food!

My dental hygienist Courtney was the best! She took the time to explain what caused my gum recession and how to fix it moving forward. She was also extremely attentive to all the spots in my teeth to make sure that everything was clean. Best dental cleaning ever! Courtney is awesome!

What an easy process from phone call to walking out the door. The receptionist explained what to bring for my appointment and helped me with my forms. Friendly environment and knowledgeable staff. Doctor was friendly and smart. Highly recommend!

Best dental experience ever! I was so nervous when I arrived, they calmed me down and took care of emergency on the spot. Can't ask for a more knowledgeable and caring staff. I will be back for cleaning and preventative care! 10 out of 10

I feel like I had been coming there for a long time. The staff helped get in and be looked immediately. I do not recommend Harrison Pointe Dentistry. They offered to replace my filings (which were fine), I was only there for a cleaning. Well on my next visit after they replaced my fillings, I was told I have cavities, and I am not one to get cavities often, I've had the same 3 for over 20 years. So I questioned if they were new and they said theyre the same ones..so they did them incorrectly. Its always a different doctor, and they question me about the work of the previous doctor. They also filed down one of my teeth unnecessarily, so not only do i have to get my fillings replaced, I now need a crown as well! The same thing also happened with my daughter, she now needs all of her fillings replaced, but it will NOT be at Harrison Pointe Dentistry!

They are terrible dentists. Thay have many unhappy clients, please do not go there . they take your money and torture you in the process as well.

This was a very pleasant visit to the Harrison Pointe Dentistry. The receptionist was very friendly, welcoming and clear in her instructions. The service by the Dentist Assistant was casual but clear and informative. Then the Dentist herself made the vist very informative in her explanations and efficient in attendng to my need. I am actually looking forward to my next visit.

I had a great experience at Harrison Pointe Dentistry. Every staff member was so warm, kind, and really listened to my concerns without judgement. The dentist is often a negative experience for people, but this office raises the bar for customer service and dentistry. I highly recommend giving Harrison Pointe Dentistry a try!

I want to first start off by saying I don't normally like going to the dentist. I started going here because I needed help and the other places around here I have not had a good experience with. So I want to also say that the staff is absolutely amazing, during the operations they ensure that everything is going as planned and try to make you as comfortable as possible. The office is kept clean, and they follow covid protocols. What you can expect is a no BS visit they are going to tell you what needs to be done and let you make the decision on when. They also provide you with the cost of your next visit based on what needs to be done (which is nice in my opinion). Even if I moved away I can find myself still coming back to this office. Keep up the awesome work!

I cannot say enough good things about this practice and staff. Very caring compassion front desk scheduler, gentle and efficient back staff members. I was always afraid to go to the dentist, but after my appointment today, I am not longer apprehensive about the dentist. I would recommend this group to all my family and friends. This practice really does go the extra mile for their patients.
