Drs. Devin and Alex are committed to serving as a pillar of their dental careers. In acknowledgment, the American Dental Association presented them each with the Certificate for International Volunteer Service in 2018. In 2019 Drs. Alex and Devin were appointed as Program Directors for the Madagascar Dental Mission through Stony Brook University. As Clinical Assistant Professors they are honored to continue to serve their students and patients, near and far.

When they are not in the care of their patients, you can find Drs. Devin and Alex in the Adirondacks rock climbing, skiing on water or snow, tending to their garden, or engaged in their many hobbies. Dr. Devin enjoys photography, bicycling, brewing beer, and plays many instruments including saxophone, piano, guitar, and is currently learning the cello. Dr. Alex enjoys oil painting, ice skating, yoga, and cooking, especially Greek and Italian foods of her heritage.

Dr. Devin S. Harrison spent his early years in Gloversville and has fond memories of playing soccer, running track, and performing music at GHS. He continued his education locally at Union College in Schenectady, earning a B.S. in Biochemistry as a member of the class of 2009.

The following year involved a move to Long Islandwhere he joined his brother, Dr. Brendon Harrison, at Stony Brook Universitys School of Dental Medicine. He earned his D.D.S there in 2014. Dr. Devin became a Tar Heel that summer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, to complete a General Practice Residency.

Dr. Devin is committed to continuing his education as a member of the American Dental Association, the New York Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Capital District Continuum for Advanced Dental Education. As an Eagle Scout, Dr. Devin learned the value of service and is honored to have had the opportunities to provide care to underserved populations in Madagascar, Uganda, El Salvador, and Zambia. In recognition of these efforts, the New York State Dental Foundation presented him with the Student Recognition Award in 2013. He is excited to be back in the area and to join his father, Dr. Wayne Harrison, in caring for the oral health of his local community.

Dr. Alexandra Porcu is from Long Island and graduated from Syosset Senior High School. During her grade school years, she became a United States Figure Skating Association Double Gold Medalist. Continuing her love of skating she served as Captain of the PICS synchronized skating team while studying at Georgetown University. During this time she also served as President of the Caring for Children with Cancer club and studied genetics as a Howard Hughes Research Scholar.

In 2011 she earned a B.S. in Biology and a Minor in Studio Art. Carrying with her the Georgetown motto Cura Personalis, meaning Care of the whole person she pursued her desire to help others at Stony Brook Universitys School of Dental Medicine. There, as a Paul Ambrose Research Scholar, she worked to improve access to care for under-served patients. In 2016 she earned her D.D.S. with Distinction in Research, Distinction in Removable Prosthodontics, the Humanitarian Award, and the Senior Student Dental Award.

Dr. Alex enjoyed many aspects of her time at Stony Brook, most of all meeting Dr. Devin. They decided to live together in Dr. Devins hometown, where they could enjoy their love of the outdoors. Dr. Alex completed a General Practice Residency at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, and loves her new home and serving her community in the beautiful Adirondacks.

Dr. Alex is dedicated to continued education and is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Capital District Continuum for Advanced Dental Education. She remains dedicated to outreach and has had the opportunity to provide care to underserved populations in New York, Tennessee, Madagascar, Zambia, El Salvador, and Costa Rica.

Dr. Harrison received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Stony Brook Universitys School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Harrison received honors in Periodontics, Endodontics, and Operative Dentistry. He completed a one-year General Practice Residency in Dentistry and served one year as Senior Dental Resident at St. Clares Hospital. He has practiced in the Capital Region for over 30 years.

Dr. Harrison has been dedicated to providing excellent dental care for his patients by continuing his education. After completing 500 hours of continuing education as well as his fellowship examination, he was awarded Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1987.

Dr. Harrisons professional memberships include the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the New York Dental Association, Fellow ICOI, IAO, and the Fourth District Dental Society. Dr. Harrison served for two years as President of the local Fourth District Dental Society and has been a member of several committees, including serving as Chairman of Continuing Education. Dr. Harrison has published articles in the Journal of the American Dental Association and General Dentistry.

Dr. Harrison first started doing community outreach when he was a member of the faculty at the University of Connecticut Dental School in 2006. Since that time, he has made five mission trips to Jinga, Uganda in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2018 and each of his three kids have accompanied him on at least one of these trips. When students and staff from Jinga come to the US for fundraising trips, Harrison Family Dentists provides them with the dental care they need.

An Eagle Scout, Dr. Harrison has been Cubmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Merit Badge Counselor, and served on the Executive Board of Twin Rivers Council Boy Scouts of America for over 25 years. Dr. Wayne S. Harrison is committed to assuring his patients achieve optimal dental health by providing excellent treatment that will serve them for years.
