At Harrisburg Pediatric Dentistry, were dedicated to providing comprehensive and exceptional dentistry for children. The goal for our family dentistry practice is to create a positive environment, where your children will learn the importance of proper oral hygiene. To prevent dental problems from ever starting, we teach children, early on, the important skills needed to ensure they maintain healthy, cavity-free smiles for life.
Our knowledgeable team is dedicated to educating every child who steps through our doors. We coach kids and their families on proper brushing and flossing techniques, and how to select the right type of snacks to keep smiles bright.
Dr. Nixongraduated from the University of Detroit in Michigan with a BA in Chemistry before going on to earn a dental degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. She received her Certificate of Pediatric Dentistry from New Yorks Columbia University School of Dental Surgery. Dr. Putney has practiced in the pediatric field for more than 15 years, and enjoys hospital privileges at Carolinas Healthcare System, University Hospital, where she also serves on the Executive Committee.
An ardent supporter of children in need who is passionate about making a difference in kids lives, Dr. Nixon volunteers her time and services for several charitable causes. These include Rowan and Cabarrus Counties Head Start programs and Bright Smiles, Bright Future, a program that provides free dental screenings and oral health education to at-risk children. She also volunteers her services for Give Kids a Smile and NC Missions of Mercy, outreach programs that provide access to dental healthcare.
Whether acting as a role model or working to make a child more comfortable and happy while the dentist, Dr. Nixon is committed to bettering the lives of the patients she serves. She has two daughters, and devotes her free time to traveling, cooking, and supporting the arts.

Born and raised in Union County, North Carolina, Dr. Nate attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with distinction in 2006 and earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Dr. Nate next attended UNC School of Dentistry, where he was in the top five percent of his dental class and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors. He then attended the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, serving as chief resident and receiving his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Nate is a board certified pediatric dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
With a passion for mission work, he has used dentistry to serve others in Ecuador, Kenya, and at dental clinics through the North Carolina Missions of Mercy program. He enjoys playing and watching sports, and is looking forward to starting his own family with his wife Kate.
Were excited to introduce our pediatric dentist, Dr. Kim Nixon. She graduated with a BA in Chemistry from the University of Detroit in Michigan, and then went on to earn a dental degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. She received her Certificate of Pediatric Dentistry from New Yorks Columbia University School of Dental Surgery. She knew she wanted to be a pioneering woman in the field of pediatric dentistry and continues to help children receive great dental care through organizations like Give Kids a Smile and NC Missions of Mercy.
I dont have a mentor or role model, however, the values and the demonstration of unconditional love and respect for one another that my parents share give me the motivation to be like them. They are going on 54 years of marriage.

They are totally AWESOME! My grandson is 8 yrs old and has not been to the dentist since he was 3 yrs old. I was sure he would have a full blown panic attack as soon as they told him to open his mouth....but he was as cool as a cucumber. Dr. Amanda and her staff explained everything that they was going to do before they did it...he was at easy with them from X-rays to cleaning and flossing and the exam. His little sister is headed there next.

the attention and cleanliness is the best thing about this place, the doctor who treated my son was very kind and friendly with me and my son. he is 4 years old and he really loves going to the dentist great job from the whole team including the reception people

Both my kids went here today for the first time for a cleaning. My son who is 6 has had a very traumatic (anxiety ridden), hard time with our old dentist and dreads going there. After going to this new dentist today, he said he liked them a lot, they were very nice, they let daddy go back with him, he was able to get his teeth cleaned with his sister, they were gentle, they took pictures of his teeth (he's never had that done before) and he didn't cry at all! It was a HUGE, HUGE success and I had happy tears in my eyes when he told me that. My daughter who liked their old dentist a lot even said she prefers this place way more and wants to stay here! Thanks so much to all the staff that helped my kids feel happy, safe, and at ease.

My daughter 5 yr old daughter had a tongue tie release as a baby and was fearful of anyone getting into her mouth ever since. She was afraid of going to the dentist until we started coming here about a year ago. The staff, hygienist and dentist are all very friendly and professional. You can see they enjoy what they do. It's a fun environment, my daughter gets excited about going to her appointments.

Amazing experience from start to finish! My sons first visit to the dentist was so pleasant. This is the difference- tech making sure Eeyore's teeth were all clean too. My son was excited and happy to be there. I highly recommend you bring your children to Harrisburg Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Danielle was so patient and calm with my 5year old even after he became squirmy from not liking the flavor of toothpaste. She assured him this toothpaste is different and distracted him with conversation until he relaxed and cooperated for her to continue. My son had a peaceful experience. Thank you Dr. David was gentle and calm with my older children and they enjoyed the distraction of conversation as well. This Dentistry has a wonderful staff for all ages

My daughter (almost 3) had her first dentist appointment yesterday and needless to say- Dr. Amanda made quite the impression! Following the appointment, my daughter told everyone how sparkly they made her teeth. Can't wait to return in August!

My daughter has been going to Charlotte Pediatric for years. Her normal location was booked and they scheduled us at the Harrisburg location. I am so glad they did. The facility is modern and very clean. Then to put the cherry on top Dr. Amanda was EVERYTHING. She is very personable and upbeat. My daughter really liked her and said she has "Good Vibes" lol. Although the other location is closer to me I will travel to Harrisburg from now on for my daughter's appointments.

It was my first time taking my 2 yr old to this location.i was very pleased and impressed with their level of professionalism, everyone wore mask and they did an excellent job in cleaning off some stains on her teeth. Doctor Shah and the two hygienists were AWASOME!!.Definitely recommend them.
