Driven by a love of science and medicine, Dr. Simon chose dentistry because it allows him to care for peoples physiological and functional needs while simultaneously attending to their more emotional concerns regarding their self-image. In many ways, modern dentistry is a holistic process in which the patients cares are evaluated and treated both on the physical level and also with respect to how they feel about their smile, their treatment, and dentistry in general.
Dr. Simon graduated from The University of the Pacific Dental School in 2004 with his Doctoral Degree in Dental Surgery. His Golden Rule life philosophy was further inspired by the realization that dentists need to recognize that in the past, some patients endured largely unfavorable dental experiences. Many people have both negative associations and genuine anxiety about previous dental treatment. I think its our responsibility and privilege as dentists to create a nonjudgmental, empathetic place where patients feel safe, heard, and empowered in their own care. Dr. Simons favorite part of his profession is the opportunity to build positive, long-term relationships, as well as to create rapport that encourages patients to truly enjoy their time in the chair. Characterizing his approach to treatment as conservative and preventative, Dr. Simon would love to help each patient enjoy, A smile that lasts a lifetime. I am convinced that its possible, and I love working together toward that ideal.
In addition to his formal education, Dr. Umberger is a student of life. He enjoys learning about different cultures through reading and traveling to new destinations, as well as exploring the wonderful world of fine arts. He has a passion for learning and speaking different languages and being able to communicate with diverse people. Currently, he is trilingual, speaking both German and Portuguese in addition to his native English.
Known for his ability to make people feel comfortable, Dr. Umberger compassionately listens to his patients so he can partner with them in their health goals. He seeks to provide the best, most current care that dentistry offers. Dr. Umberger is thankful every day for the opportunity to help his patients get better, feel better, and look better. He considers himself extremely fortunate to be doing precisely what he believes he was designed to do. I think its a rare and extraordinary privilege to have found my passion and to wake up every day excited and grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. When asked about his vision for the practice, Dr. Umberger unhesitatingly replies that he would love to see all of his patients treatment-free, turning Harmony Dental into a hygiene only office. Truthfully, my highest vision would essentially put me out of business, Dr. Umberger says smiling, but I cant help but imagine how great it would be to have my patients in a continuous state of dental health.

I enjoy a healthy diet and have often found that natural remedies are most helpful! I love spending time with my family and friends.
