Dr. Yuko Torigoe, DMD, NMD, IBDM, AIAOMTBorn and raised in Okayama, Japan, Dr. Yuko moved to Pasadena, TX when she was sponsored by the Pasadena Rotary Club as a high school exchange student.She decided to continue her education in the U.S. and subsequently attended Texas A&M University where she earned her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. After living in Texas for six years, Dr. Yuko decided to attend Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Becoming a dentist was a dream of hers since she was six years old when she had an unforgettable experience at her dentist who inspired her to become a dentist just like him. Immediately after she graduated from dental school in 2001, she was recruited by one of the most respected professors at Boston University to become a full-time associate dentist at Chestnut Hill Dental where she built her foundation as a caring and compassionate dentist for more than thirteen years.
In 2014, Dr. Yuko and her husband moved to Chicago for a year. In Chicago, she met Dr. Janet Stopka, who taught her about the dangers of mercury use in dentistry and also introduced her to the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT). After learning how she could offer her patients a safer approach through biologic and holistic dentistry, Dr. Yuko became a member of IAOMT. Dr. Yuko worked alongside Dr. Stopka for one year and this work led Dr. Yuko to become an active and Accredited Member of IAOMT. She is not only an IAOMT board member, she is also on several committees including the International Committee, the Education Committee, the Dental School Committee, and the Disciplinary Committee. Dr. Yuko is one of three accredited IAOMT members in the Boston area (Dr. Mayr and Dr. Patel are the two others).In addition, her strong desire to practice biomimetic dentistry has lead her to be trained under her mentors like Dr. David Alleman, Dr. Matt Nejad, Dr. Simone Deliperi and Dr. Pascal Magne. Dr. Yuko truly enjoys preserving as much nature as possible in dentistry which has been the most rewarding part of the biomimetic dentistry.
When she's not caring for her patients, Dr. Yuko embraces trail running, mountain biking, yoga, meditation, cooking, cycling, hiking and long walks around the city. She has also completed many marathon races including the Honolulu Marathon (2009) and the Boston Marathon (2021).
Dr. Michael Mayr, DMD, MA, AIAOMTAlthough he'll always be a native Texan, Dr. Mayr has called Boston home for over a decade. After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Finance, he then went on to receive his Masters degree from the Boston University School of Medicine followed by his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
During his time at the Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Mayr worked closely with Dr. Yuko and it was there they realized their similar philosophies of biologic dentistry and their passion to providing a holistic approach to the care of their patients.
Along with being accredited through the IAOMT, Dr. Mayr has also received specialized training in the biomechanics of the TMJ's through OBI, and is trained in the use of PRF (platelet rich fibrin), ozone and laser usage for tooth extractions.
Outside of our practice, Dr. Mayr is an active leader in the dental community, serving as a Trustee on the Massachusetts Dental Society Board of Trustee's among other leadership positions. Julissa O. Office ManagerBorn in the Dominican Republic and raised in Boston, Julissa has more than ten years of dental office management/administration experience. She prides herself on building lasting relationships with patients and being able to help them with their dental insurance questions and financial options.
She appreciates the importance of not only understanding the reason for your visit, but the importance of providing patients with the confidence and ease of continuing their care. From the moment you walk in, to the moment you walk out, you can expect Julissa to give you respect, kindness and a feeling that you are not just a patient, but a friend of the office. Along with the rest of the staff at Harmony, her goal is to make you feel comfortable and that your experience at our office is a pleasant one.
Haley J. Administrative SupervisorHaley was born in Hunan, China but has lived in Massachusetts since they were 3 months old. They received their Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and would like to take Graphic Design courses in the future. When Haley is not doodling or painting, they love to help others when they can and further better themself as a person. They also have a keen interest in archery, rock climbing, and learning new crafts..
Angela C. Dental Hygienist RDH, BSDHAngela was born and raised in Boston, MA and later moved to Cary, North Carolina where she resided for 4 years before attending West Virginia Universitya college that has one of the only accredited and fully integrated hygiene programs in the country. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene, she decided to move back to Boston to start her career in the dental field. After expressing a keen interest in a more holistic/organic approach to dentistry, her aunta former colleague of Dr. Yuko'srecommended her to Harmony.

Elvin P. Dental Hygienist RDHElvin was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and moved to Boston in 1997 with his family. After graduating from high school, he went on to Mount Ida College where he earned his degree in Dental Hygiene in 2002. The holistic approach to treating patients has always been his passion and this led him to Harmony in 2019. Elvin works with our patients to establish effective, safe oral health practices that promote overall health in the least toxic manner.
Ari K. Dental Hygienist RDHAri is originally from Long Island, New York where he grew up in a traditional Greek household. He completed both his Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene and Bachelor of Science degree in Bioscience at SUNY- Farmingdale State College. Throughout his years of practicing dental hygiene, Ari became very passionate about the overall healthcare of his patients and also pursuing a career in dentistry. He now attends Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he is studying to receive his Doctorate in Dental Medicine.
Anni C. Dental Hygienist RDHAnniborn in Guatemala and raised in Waltham MAentered the field of dentistry when she was 17 years old.She started as a receptionist and went on to become a Dental Assistant.After eight years as a Certified Dental Assistant, she went on to complete her Dental Hygiene Degree at Quinsigamond Community College where she graduated in 2011.With more than 16 years of dental experience, she understands all aspects of a dental office and how best she and the office can serve the patients needs.Currently, Anni is working on completing a bachelors degree in Psychology.From there, she is interested in applying her degree to help patients achieve their dental health goals.
Chris B. Lead Dental Assistant RDAChris was born in Haiti and moved to the city of Brockton when he was 10 years old. Currently, he resides in Lowell Massachusetts. He has worked as a dental assistant for 7 years. After graduating high school, Chris went directly to the Lincoln Technical Institute where he learned the basics of general dentistry. He is fluent in Haitian Creole and English. He enjoys making new connections with colleagues and patients. When hes not helping to provide top notch dental care, he loves to spend time reading the Bible, spending time with his wife and children, exercising and occasionally watching sports. His biggest goal in life is to strive and grow in his faith and to be the best father he can be to his beautiful children.
Sheila C. Dental Assistant RDABorn and raised in Woburn, Sheila attended the Bryman Institute to become a Registered Dental Assistant. Prior to joining Harmony, she worked at Chestnut Hill Dental for six years, also with Dr.Yuko. A desire to live in South Florida made her move to Fort Lauderdale where she lived for 6 1/2 years. While there, she gave birth to Lola and Lucille, her beautiful twin girls. She made the decision to move back to New England so she could be closer to her family, friends, and to reunite with Dr. Yuko.Sheila loves the beach and warm weather. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her girls, her family, going shopping and anything that has to do with the outdoors. Her goals in life are to be the best mom possible, to grow and learn at Harmony and to be the best person she can be!
Ava D. Dental Assistant RDAAva was born and raised in Boston Massachusetts. She enjoys learning new things and is dedicated to helping others. She earned a culinary certificate in high school, has studied at an art school and loves designing. She views dentistry not just as a clinical endeavor but as an art form. She chose to explore a career in holistic dentistry because it aligns with her morals. She is a firm believer in treating your body well is one and she wishes to spread that philosophy to others.
June L. Dental Assistant RDAJune Woo, or June was born and raised in South Korea, and came to America with the support of his parents. Currently, he is an undergraduate at Boston University where is on track to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Physiology. He truly enjoys learning about healthcare, dentistry, and science.Assisting has been a great way to gain exposure to the dental field, as his ultimate goal is to be a great dentist. He is fluent in Korean, and wants to learn Spanish as his third foreign language. Outside of work, June likes to cook and sing in the school choir.
Larissa B. Administrative AssistantLarissa was born and raised in the South Shore. She attended Endicott College where she received a Bachelors Degree in English and a minor in Photography/Fine Art. She has recently returned from her time in Austin, Texas where she was able to develop her appreciation of tacos, Southern hospitality and using yall in everyday conversation. She currently enjoys reading, repairing bicycles and wondering how she would fare in a zombie apocalypse.
Eddy T. General FactotumEddy hails from NYC and has made Bostons South End his home. He is our office factotum, which most people have no clue what that means so here is the official definition: factotum an employee who does all kinds of work. When hes not helping the office with admin, branding, IT, marketing and delivering packages, you can find him riding micro-mobility devices around the city, improving his photography skills and writing semi-literate poetry.
