We are conveniently located near the San Diego Freeway in the central part of San Diego, in the UC San Diego Health- La Jolla building, located at 8899 University Center Lane, Suite #180 in San Diego, CA.
Dr. Kim is a residency trained general dentist in La Jolla. He provides thorough comprehensive dental care through open communication with the patients. Dr. Kim previously practiced in La Jolla before moving to NYC, and is thrilled to be back home!
With a strong belief that continuing education is an essential part of his career, Dr. Kim pursues numerous postdoctoral courses in clinical dentistry and actively participates in various professional organizations. Dr. Kim has advanced training in treating multidisciplinary complex dental cases, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, jaw joint disorders and occlusion, restorative and preventive dentistry.
Dr. Kim received a prestigious fellowship (FAGD) and mastership (MAGD) award from the Academy of General Dentistry and International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI), and currently serves as a committee member at the American Equilibration Society and San Diego County Dental Society. He is a faculty member, study club leader and blog content contributor at the Dawson Academy, a renowned educational and clinical facility that teaches fundamental skills in occlusion, TMJ disorder and comprehensive esthetic dentistry.
Dr. Kim is also the study club leader and mentor dentist at the Ignite DDS, and has completed a year-long comprehensive implant continuum at University of Florida and orofacial pain residency at the LSU School of Dentistry. Dr. Kim is a certified dentist in Invisalign.
Dr. Harmetz has a vast experience treating a complex cosmetic dental concern. Throughout his career, Dr. Harmetz has continuously participated in continuing education course in order to keep up to date with the newest dental treatments and techniques, materials and advances in technology. He is a certified dentist in Invisalign. Dr. Harmetz is actively involved with a local study club including the Spear Education. He has been a member of the San Diego county dental society for over 40 years and has served as a committee member of the organization.

You don't need to look any further. Dr. Kim is the best! Both my husband and I needed to find a competent and professional dentist and were referred to Dr. Kim. We both had dental situations that needed expert care, and we were very fortunate to see Dr. Kim. Over the years, we have been seen by a number of dentists and I can truly say that the referral to this office was the best advice that we were given. Dr. Kim is caring, thorough, professional and warm. His staff (call out to Yolanda) is above reproach. Hands down the best dental care that we have ever had, and I cannot recommend Dr. Kim enough! Drs. Harmetz, Kim and staff are outstanding. My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Harmetz for over 25 years. 10/26/22-while eating breakfast a gold filling fell out of my mouth. I called Dr. Harmetz's office. They fit me in within minutes Dr. Harmetz cemented the filling. It took him about 20 minutes to complete the job. Great doctors and staff!!

This office is wonderful. I can't think of a more friendly and dedicated group of people. Dr. Harmetz is a true artist and his work is impeccable. I grew up being afraid of dentists and dentists offices. Dr. Harmetz & Dr. Kim dentistry changed all my fears into an amazing experience. I became a patient 17 years go and I walked in with a big smile on my face and come out the same way. They treat me and every person like family. I wish I could give them 10 stars instead of 5. Their personnel, the doctors, the location and the clinic is wonderful. Dr. Harmetz inspired my son so much that he became a Dental Corpsman in the NAVY and now he attending USC to get his bachelor in Science as a requirement to start his studies in Dentistry.

Hands down - best dentist and dentistry practice I have ever visited (and I am very picky with my dentists!). I have a complicated oral situation and many dentists who are not very well trained will recommend a range of procedures - Dr. Kim is a bite specialist and after my first session from the way he explained my situation, to the questions he asked - I knew he was an expert in his field, and very honest with me solving for what is best for me and my health and not for the business. Dr. Kim is very patient, compassionate, and genuinely cares for his patients. He has personally called me to check in on me and to discuss my concerns. HIs staff are also very friendly, professional, and great at what they do. If you have high standards for your dentist you should go to Dr. Kim especially if you have a complicated oral history. highly highly recommend!

I highly recommend a dental hygienist Elise Bjork. I never thought of possibility having a pleasant experience at the dental chair, but that was a case with Elise. Highly professional and warm hearted personality. Certainly will return. Dr Kim also has hands made of gold. I just wish that the prices would be lower. However, some things are above money.
