Dr. H. Justin Harlow was born and raised on the south side of Atlanta in College Park, GA. Dr. Harlow earned a Bachelors of Science degree in anthropology and human biology from Emory University. After graduating, he went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the age of 25 from the School of Dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He refers to himself as an expanded function general dentist due to his appreciation for procedures like root canals, extractions, and cosmetic crowns. He has committed himself to staying at the forefront of dental technology and techniques by being an active member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Old North State Dental Society.
Passionate about giving back, he volunteers with the Missions of Mercy Clinic, gives career seminars to dental students at UNC-Chapel Hill, and mentors students at UNC and ECU dental schools through the Old North State mentoring program.
Dr. Harlow is also a committed public servant. In 2017, he was elected to the Charlotte City Council, representing District 2 on Charlotte's NW side. He served as the Chair of the Neighborhood Development committee which oversees public safety, housing and environmental initiatives for the City of Charlotte. He was also a member of the Economic Development Committee. He has served on a variety of community boards and nonprofit boards including Discovery Place, Charlotte Center City Partners and the Five Points Community Collaborative.
Dr. Harlow is a former board member and current Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. In 2019, he was named to the Charlotte Business Journal's 40 Under 40 list to supplement his 2018 Elevate Lifestyle 30 Under 30 honor and his 2017 feature inCharlotte Agenda's 30 Under 30 award. Dr. Harlow has been featured in Who's Who in Black Charlotte in 2018-2020 and was highlighted in a book titled, Ten Men: Examining the Passion and Progress of Black Men on Charlotte's Historic West Side for his community work.He has also been honored with a STANDOUT Charlottean award for his community and professional work by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Dr. Harlow has been married to his wife, Kiara, since 2013. They enjoy spending time traveling to the beach and mountains, watching sports, and going to the movies. They have 3 wonderful children (ALL BOYS!)

Such an "AWESOME" Team and Doctor J. Harlow when I mean he is Smooth Working and Very Respectful, Kind & Humble as well as Professional. I came in early for my Root Canal appointment on 8/4/22 and Doctor Harlow and staff took me right away. Doctor Harlow facility was very nice, neat, clean & colorful. All equipment was sterelized prepped and ready, Doctor Harlow made sure I was comfortable as well as he's assistant. Doctor Harlow explained each step of my procedure to me alerting me that I would feel some pressure, I felt very involved and safe and believe it or not very relaxed . I go back in a week for my crown and I'm looking forward to going back to my favorite Dentist ! "A Customer4Life"

All of the staff at Harlow Dental were very friendly. They even went above and beyond to provide special accommodations for me during my visit. My dental hygienist, Stephanie, was kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Harlow was professional and thoroughly explained his recommendations for my dental plan. The front desk staff advised me of all costs associated with my dental plan, as expected. I highly recommend this practice if you are looking for professional dental care without surprise costs.

I have been coming to Harlow Dental for years now and I have not had one bad experience. The staff are friendly and professional. I had my cleaning today by Keisha and she did an amazing job. She gave awesome advice and techniques that I can use in my everyday brushing routine. Dr. Harlow as always is very thorough and professional.

I was in pain all weekend from a previous procedure done on my mouth from another Dentist. I called as soon as they open they were very personal, which was a plus, going into the office it felt like I was an existing customer felt like I was home. Everyone was so nice and pleasant! When I was called into the exam room same results nice pleasant and professional. Dr. Harlow was amazing! My problem is gone! The entire staff was amazing! I would recommend to family and friends!!! Bittersweet today I retired my own dentist of 17 years for Dr.Harlow! Blessings to new beginnings!

Starting with the Male receptionist ! he is super nice, he's very compassionate about patients, every time I've been here they are super nice and when you need an appointment and don't have space for you they'll help you out and when there is a cancellation!! they will call you to see if you want that appointment(not all offices are like that). The Dental assistant is nice as well. I want to highlight Ms. Shonna !! she is great (*my favorite) I always have anxiety and after talking to her I calm down, Also the Colombian hygienist ( forgot her name) Is super considerate! and nice ! Both doctors are awesome !!! They will always try to find the best way to take care of your dental health. Love them.
