Dr. Adam K. Harkrider is honored to provide endodontic services to the community of Boerne and surrounding Texas Hill Country. He, his wife Shelley, and their two children, Beatrice and John Patrick, feel very blessed to call Boerne home.
Dr. Harkrider completed undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He attended dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX on a US Navy scholarship. After graduation, Dr. Harkrider completed a General Practice Residency program at Naval Medical Center San Diego receiving specialized training in various areas of hospital-based dentistry, including; anesthesia, surgery, and trauma. He went on to serve three years in Yokosuka, Japan as a general dentist, during which he deployed onboard the USS Tortuga in support of naval operations in the Pacific. Dr. Harkriders interest in root canals led him to the endodontic program at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, MD. While there, he received his Certificate in Endodontics and a Masters of Science degree in Oral Biology. Upon completion, Dr. Harkrider was stationed at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina where he practiced endodontics. During this time, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, completing an intensive certification process achieved by only 20% of endodontists nationwide. This value of continuing education and the highest standards of practice are interwoven into every process at Harkrider Endodontics.
Shelley is our office manager who was born and raised in Victoria, TX. Her background lies in education and counseling through which she brings a unique perspective to our office. She completed her undergraduate study at the University of Texas at Austin and graduate study at Chapman University. From scheduling to financial options, Shelley delights in working with patients in pursuit of excellent endodontic care.
Alina was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. After spending time at Texas A&M she realized her true passion was working in the dental field. She completed her registered dental assisting program and joined the team at Harkrider Endodontics shortly after. Alina knows the value in a healthy smile and enjoys helping patients with their dental needs. She is kind and her calming demeanor is an asset to our patients and our office. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exercising, true crime podcasts and playing with her two dogs!
Amber is our treatment coordinator who was born and raised in western New York. Her family, all from south Texas, prompted her move home to the Hill Country. After concluding her studies in accounting she enjoyed a nine year career in banking. Amber has always been fascinated with the healthcare field which brought her to Harkrider Endodontics where she finds joy working with patients to attain the best treatment possible. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, swimming and CrossFit.

I literally have a mouthful of crowns going back decades however I have never had to have a root canal sooo... you can imagine my consternation when my dentist referred me to Dr Harkrider. I was quite nervous but all for nought as Dr Harkrider and his staff relieved me of my anxiety by their extremely cool demeanor as well as super professional behavior regarding my treatment. I needed root canal and my dentist referred me to Dr Harkrider. I Never had a root canal before and was ready to get it fixed. I'm sitting here at 1:30 in the afternoon, Dr Harkrider finished at about 11:00 this morning, he removed the dead root, sealed it, filled, shaped it, basically a new healthy tooth that will probably outlive me. No pain, no discomfort at all. The procedure was painless, you couldn't even feel the shots to numb the tooth. I was comfortable through the entire procedures. Dr Harkrider and his staff provided a seamless experience.

Excellent endodontist and team. Had an exam and root canal done. It was pretty quick and painless, and the crown fits perfectly.

Dr. Harkrider and his whole staff are all wonderful! I was SO nervous and my situation ended up being a little more complicated and costly than they originally thought it might be but they explained everything and took good care of me. I would recommend them and I would go back although I hope I don't have to.

I have had several root canals in my life (with varying success) but if I ever need one again I'm running here! Dr. Harkrider and Ty were so wonderful with my daughter. We thought she might need one and they got us in next day for consult and treatment! They open at 8am but welcomed us at 745 so we could started on paperwork and X-rays. The patient room is modern. For those that might feel anxious...or bored, you get your own headsets to connect to the Netflix playing on the ceiling. This was a real novelty and my daughter. My daughter didn't end up needing a root canal but he talked to her about biting down too hard and clenching teeth. Makes ease given the intensity of Rice! Very patiently explained everything that he did and why. He knew my daughter was going back to school and if we went to dentist and it was root canal he said he would get her in the next day! Shelly at the front desk made insurance and checkout very easy. Thank you so much! I'm very thankful for the special treatment. Only other thing is go Army beat Navy!

Very smooth and quick experience. I haven't had a root canal in a while but they really did a good job. No pain, quick and they provide you headphone and pillow for you to watch something on the tv. Love this place, definitely recommend.

I brought my mom in for some imaging today and was SO IMPRESSED with the hospitality from Amber and all of the staff, the great bedside manner of Dr Harkrider, the modern equipment, the modern but cozy decor and the cleanliness of every corner of that office! Well done! This will be my Endodontist if I ever need one, personally!!!

I don't normally don't do google reviews. But thought this one was worth throwing out there. I arrived 20 minutes early. Expecting to wait well past my appointment time. I was shocked when I was taken back so quickly. From the moment I first called on Monday till I arrived Thursday was treated extremely friendly. Doc was great with my pain management the entire time. State of the art office. Thanks for making someone who has extreme fear around dentist and paint have a pleasant experience

I went to Dr. Harkrider after seeing other Endodontists, He made me feel comfortable by talking to me & telling me what to expect through my treatment. I had a root canal that needed to be redone because it wasn't done right the 1st time by another dentist. I've learn through experience that most dentist can do root canals but some don't know how to truly do them. I'll leave it to experts. Do your research in seeking out endodontists that have great reviews. I also had to have an apicoectomy done and was terrified from watching videos, but he really made me feel better by explaining to me what was being done. His whole staff is amazing also!
