This used to be a great place, but things have gone downhill with them recently. They wouldn't do my husbands normal cleaning without a special deep cleaning that they wanted us to pay for so we asked about payment plans. The receptionist told me she would call me back after she spoke to her office manager about payment plans. The next day she calls me back saying we can do a payment plan & I said, "okay great, what will the payments be?" & she proceeded to tell me the payment was the full amount due. I said how is that a payment plan then & she transferred me to her manager because she said she could "explain" it to me. The manager answers with an immediate rude tone. I let her know I was just speaking with the receptionist who told me I could do a payment plan, but that when I asked how much the payments would be she just kept telling me that it was the full amount due. She tried telling me the same thing. I'm not sure if they don't know what a payment plan is or what? I had to explain that I wanted to break the payment down into smaller amounts over a few months. I'm not sure why I would even need to explain that for one? & for two, big yikes on the attitude of the office manager. She was extremely cocky and rude & just kept telling me it "wasn't even that much money so can't I just pay it all at once" even though I had told her multiple times we don't have a lot of money. Not only that, but my husband said that at his appointment the dentist said he needed a ton of work done and when he told the dentist we don't have a lot of money the dentist told him that he needed to "get his priorities straight and start saving more money then" as if he knows our financial situation? I definitely do not recommend this place. Clearly they only treat you well if you have money. Terrible people.

Dr. Harkema is AMAZING. He has cleaned my teeth since I moved to Lansing back in 2013 and I have not been disappointed. When my permanent retainer broke, he referred me out to an orthodontist to get it fixed (they ended up quoting me at $2,000). When I told Harkema, he fixed the wire for me and gave me a cosmetic procedure to fix a slight chipped tooth I had. His fillings are painless, his staff is sooo nice and helpful, what's not to love about this office?? Highly recommend!

Wonderful staff and great care! Doc's been our dentist since before he had children! Between him and hygienist Melissa, my teeth and gums are in the best shape they have ever been!

Love the staff here. Always so helpful with my kids and scheduling appointments together. My youngest started going at 2 and is now 4 and loves going to the dentist. I recommend this little treasure for your family dentistry needs without all the circus hoopla.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Dr. Harkema is friendly and informative. His office embraces technology. I was able to schedule and appointment right away.

When I found Dr. Harkema I hadn't been to a dentist in over 5 years due to a bad experience with another dentist. Now I would never go to another dentist, he is the best! The staff is great and Dr. Harkema is probably the gentlest dentist I have ever been to and he does great work. The whole staff is like family now!

Dr. Harkema has been our family dentist for over 10 years now. Never a bad appointment. In a recent emergency, he was super. We had to contact over a weekend, he got back with us immediately. Appointment was set for early on Monday and daughter was fixed up in no time. He is gentle and caring. His staff is simply the best, from both receptionists to hygienists to assistant. I would HIGHLY recommend using Dr. Harkema!!!
