In 2015 she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following dental school, she completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency before beginning her orthodontics training. She then completed her orthodontic residency at the University of Connecticut where she earned her Masters Degree in Dental Science and had the privilege of leading as chief resident.

In her free time, Kayla enjoys being active. She loves playing soccer, skiing and running. Kayla ran her first marathon in 2016 and aspires to cross the finish line of the Boston Marathon one day. She recently moved to Colorado to join her fiance and his family. She loves the outdoors including fishing with her fiance, Nick and taking her Goldendoodle, Brody, on long hikes.
