I've never seen a set of teeth walk into my office without a body attached. I've never seen anybody walk into my office without emotional attachments. And I've never seen someone with poor eating habits and a stressful lifestyle without the eventual manifestation of physical consequences.
So, in my practice of Health-Centered Dentistry, I find it important to learn as much as I can about your lifestyle and eating habits. I then share with you what I know about the interrelationships of your physical, emotional and dental health based on your profile. This information allows me to be a better dentist for you.
We all have different paths in life that create different tastes. That's why there are more flavors than chocolate and vanilla. So I believe each patient is an individual with individual needs. How I treat you and what I do for you depends on the bigger picture of who you are, not just what your teeth look like.
While mercury has been used in dental 'silver' fillings for over 160 years, its use has always been filled with controversy. There has never been a dental filling material so long used and so long opposed. Even when it was introduced to the United States in 1834, physicians called mercury 's use in tooth repair malpractice. Yet, this obsolete, unhealthy and ugly filling, the mercury amalgam, is still with us.
Mercury is dangerous, more poisonous than lead or arsenic. Dental 'silver' amalgams are composed of mostly mercury. They release mercury vapor into the body 24 hours a day. And, although more than a dozen new filling materials have been shown to be superior to silver-mercury amalgam, it is still the most often used material in dentistry.
The whole idea behind healthcare is to seek the best possible method of treatment at all times. Change is natural and necessary. What has been done in the past is not always the best for the future. By educating the dental consumer, I believe they can make a difference so that wise, knowledgeable choices may be made.
Today, there is overwhelming evidence that using mercury fillings in dentistry is second-rate at best, extremely toxic at worst. Because of the threat mercury poses to our health and the health of our planet, it clearly has no place in the future of dentistry.
Periodically dentures need to be re-aligned or re-adjusted to fit your mouth. When you visit our practice, you can drop off your prosthetics in the morning for repairs and pick it up the same afternoon.

I originally went to this dentist because a friend recommended. I liked the Hygienists. I spent $1000's of dollars since he doesn't take insurance. Recently I had a Crown fall out and a hole reappeared in a tooth he had fixed. The Dentist took no responsibility for his obvious bad job on the Crown. The Crown had been placed only months prior! Seems like a nice man and staff is nice but expect to spend a lot of money and still not get great service!

I have been a patient at Dr. Hardy's practice since 1994. The one time I went elsewhere in those years, I deeply regretted it. He is a warm, caring person whose prime concern is his patients' health. He's a perfectionist who treats people like family. His staff has been with him for the entire time I have come here, except for the hygienists, who are also very stable in employment. I recommend him highly, especially if you are apprehensive or if you have underlying medical conditions that require the highest quality of dental services.

When I first started going to them, I would have given them 4 or 5 stars. However, I had a crown break roughly 2 years after it was placed on one of my molars. I was given a 25% "discount" on the replacement crown, but that was still around $1000. No insurance coverage, since it broke before the 5 year mark. When I switched dentists, the new dentist told me they stopped using Cerac (the crown system Dr. Hardy used on me) crowns on molars because of issues with breakage. I feel the right thing for Dr. Hardy to have done would have been to replace it without cost to me.

Dr. Hardy is a highly knowledgeable dentist with a super friendly staff. I have been going there for years and really enjoy his holistic approach to dentistry. His root canals are painless.

I went to Dr. Hardy for an incredibly difficult procedure. I needed a crown on a tooth that was barely savable. He saved it. Adding to that I had had a recent medical issue that made me nervous to have dental work done. He was SO gentle and incredibly patient. I would not go to another dentist!

Great office atmosphere! I have been coming here for several years and have always been treated well. The staff remembers me everytime I come to the office and Dr. Hardy has the best jokes! Totally put me at ease even though I was nervous about the work that had to be done. I didnt even feel the injection! I would highly recommend Dr. Hardy to anyone looking for a great dentist!

I've been coming to this office since i was a little girl. The assistants are very nice and they tell you the truth about the harm in different dental hygiene methods. Dr Hardy is very gentle with his procedures and he is funny. Hard to keep your mouth open when he makes you smile. Would recommend.

I went to Dr. James Hardy 20 plus years ago on a recommendation from a holistic doctor to have all my silver amalgams removed. He did a great job then and i went back to him recently when i was told i needed 3 root canals and crowns and he saved me from all that unnecessary pain and expense by testing further and crowning one and filling another. NO ROOT CANALS!! what i love about him and the staff is that they are so calm, compassionate and cheerful in a situation that is difficult at best. Thank you Dr. Hardy and staff!!!

Dr. Hardy has been my dentist most of my life. He removed all my ugly mercury fillings and strictly uses nice pretty ceramic ones. He is a very knowledgeable and patient dentist and genuinely concerned about your health and comfort. His staff is equally amazing as well. They are very attentive and professional and called to see how I was doing after my last crown.
