After receiving my Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry at Oregon Health and Sciences University, I chose to raise my kids close to their extended family in Montana. I always knew I would come back to the Pacific Northwest.
I am a Gig Harbor native.I moved away after high school and decided to move back since I missed my hometown.I have been in the dental field since 2011 and I absolutely love it! I love meeting new people and discussing Gig Harbors community. I am married with two fur babies, a Corgi, and an Aussie.
I was born and raised in Tacoma. After high school, I immediately enrolled in Clover Park dental assisting program because of my crazy fascination with teeth. I have worked as a dental assistant ever since and I love my job! I feel so fortunate to work with such a great team and so many amazing patients at Harbor View Dentistry. I truly just enjoy making my patients smile!
I started my dental career as an assistant, but realized my true passion was in dental hygiene. I graduated from the University of Hawaii in 1989 where I received my Dental Hygiene certification. I believe that educating my patients with proper techniques and tools is a key element in helping them improve their overall health. I cant wait to make your smile sparkle!

I have been going to Harbor View Dentistry for many years. I was a little apprehensive when Tom Mitchell retired and James Aichlmayr acquired the practice. The reality though, turned out to be just fine. The front desk is always extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The assistants and hygienists are great. Dr. Aichlmayr always takes extra time to thoroughly explain every detail and discuss solution options. He does everything possible to keep patients comfortable during procedures. I have needed an emergency appointment twice and both times they made their services available same day. I'm glad to have this group of professionals for my dental needs.

Night and day compared to the last office I went to! The Dr. was awesome, informative, kind, not rushed. The staff was amazing, welcoming and helpful. I'm so glad I found this place!

It's always a great experience having my teeth taken care of by Dr. Jim and his staff. They are very caring, always checking in each step of the procedures and making sure that everything is OK. I highly recommend them to anybody who is seeking dental care.

Extremely kind and efficient staff. It's a very easy-going atmosphere. Everyone is patient and has great bedside manner. They understand that people hate going to the dentist and make the experience downright pleasant. It's evident that the whole team cares about making patients comfortable and meeting people where they are. Clinicians should probably come here to learn how to do business correctly. As I am a generally delinquent patient who would typically prefer to avoid dentistry at all costs, this review should carry some weight.

I recently started going to this dentist and just had work done. All three times I've been so far have been a wonderful experience. The people are friendly and welcoming, and it's very evident how much they care about the people they are serving. As a person who has had not so great experience at the dentist in general, I feel like I am being taken great care of. They all make me feel as though my concerns are of the utmost importance and the communication is great as far as what my insurance covers and what I take care of. I'm very happy I found this dentist and I highly recommend!

Going to Harbor View Dentistry has been the best dental experience I have ever had! Shelly, my dental hygienist is kind, witty and made my periodontal cleaning a breeze. I didn't have to wait on Dr. Aichlmayr at all (usually you have to wait almost 20 min just for the dentist to come see you after your cleaning). He was nice, straight to the point, he even addressed my concerns and put me to ease. The front staff are so welcoming even on the phone. As someone who cringes at the thought of going to the dentist, I am actually really excited to back in 4 months. Never thought I would say that. I would give 10 stars if I could. I'll be a lifetime client here!!

I was a first-time patient and was very happy with my care at Harbor View Dentistry. The facility is clean and comfortable. Checkin was quick. My dental cleaning by Coleen was thorough and painless. And Dr Aichlmayr, almost immediately, made his inspection and appraisal. I was impressed with the whole experience.
