Ryan is a fifth-generation Point Loma native. Just around the corner from our current office location, his great-grandfather founded Kettenburg Boat Works and crafted timeless wooden boats that can still be seen cruising the San Diego Bay today. From Red Brick Preschool to Point Loma High, he has spent his life growing and learning alongside the residents of his hometown community and feels grateful to be able to care for their oral health. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Midwestern University, College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, AZ - one of the most technologically advanced dental institutions in the nation. He has received numerous academic awards and has additional training in various subfields of dentistry including dental implantology and cosmetic dentistry.
He is also an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He has lectured on various topics from Digital Workflows of CAD/CAM-CBCT Integration to Emerging Dental Applications of 3D Printing. Digital dentistry is a particular passion, and he finds fulfillment in creating life-like, natural smiles for his patients.
When he isnt doing dentistry, hes walking Bessemer Path with his wife (Olivia), son (Brooks), and their wheaten terrier (Benji). Hes an avid Padres fan and loves kicking back and listening to a Don and Mud broadcast with a .394 or No-No Joe in hand.

I am impressed with Dr. Wallrich. I was not so excited about paying an extra $200 or so for my crown only because he creates the crown while you wait (for many people that is an actual plus going in for a crown measurement and getting the actual crown (not temp) same day) but I cared mostly about competence and communication. I was recommended to him by a pretty good endodontist so I knew I had to give Wallrich a shot and glad I have/did. .

If I could give Dr.Ryan and his team ten stars, I would. I had gone to multiple dentists who couldn't give me the answers and details I received at Harbor Dental. I must also state that the service surpasses any other medical experiences I've had. They are very patient and answered all my questions, the office is clean and beautiful, and the comfortable dental chairs have a screen you can distract yourself with. I am impressed with how healthy my teeth look after only ten months. It has dramatically changed how much more comfortable I am at showing off my pearly whites. Thank you, Dr. Ryan and team.

Had an amazing experience for my first initial exam and cleaning. The hygienist and assistant are very sweet and very thorough. The office manager Ezzie is really smart and takes great care of patients. Dr Ryan exceeds all expectations. He makes you feel very comfortable and explains everything in detail so it's easy to follow along in the exam. There is truly no other dentist in San Diego that I would ever go to. Dr Ryan is THEE guy and no matter where you are in San Diego, he's worth the drive to Point Loma. Don't look any further, call them to see for yourself.

My first appointment at Harbor Family Dental was great. Everyone was awesome and had great senses of humor. I recieved a tour when I went in and got a full exam and cleaning. Everyone was very professional and sociable. A very warm environment and experience.

Amazing dental staff, very knowledgeable and kind. Welcoming and always making sure you are feeling taken care of every step of the way. Dr Ryan, is very helpful and never lets you feel like you've made a mistake about previous dental work. Ask anything you like, he will answer honestly. My experience with HDF, was like being with family, as if they were my dental team forever, even though it was my initial visit.

The best dental experience you can find. They use state of the art techniques with the patient experience in mind. I just had a new filling put in and I never thought the process could be so painless. Partially due to the fact it all took place while I was laying on a message chair with a TV on the ceiling and wearing noise canceling headphones. They really thought of everything possible to make the dentist experience relaxing and enjoyable. Dr Ryan is extremely knowledgeable and great at communicating everything that is going on. You can tell he has put in years of work perfecting his practice. All of the staff is awesome. They are super friendly and knowledgeable as well. You really can't go to another dentist after you experience Harbor Family Dental!

Truly exceptional!!! The office uses the most advanced technologies and the doctors are very knowledgeable. They are also extremely professional and well organized. As a result, all the appointments are short - even when the procedure itself is complicated - and there is no pain involved, either during or after the procedure.

Wow I don't usually write reviews but I had to after my appt with Dr. Ryan! I have a long history of bad dental experiences and was very nervous going in. I also chose this office specifically after hours of researching and reading reviews. Staff was friendly and the office was warm and inviting. Dr Ryan was a gem - very thorough and considerate and patient with all my questions. They have made a forever client of me and I've already recommended to my family and friends!

Best dental experience of my life. Was in and out very quickly. As you can see from attached photos, I went from a very discolored front tooth, to a beautiful pearly white. My fiance is going to be very happy we won't be needing any teeth photoshopped for our wedding photos. Thank you harbor family dental!

I did not find the parking lot until after my visit. Parked on the street, no problem. The office is really modern, clean and welcoming. My experience with Dr Wallrich, Alizza and Izzy was exceptional. I am very impressed.

The staff here was really friendly and explained everything step by step. I always appreciate when businesses are super communicative/transparent about all the processes and procedures that I need. Definitely recommend. (The Netflix & warm blanket accommodation during the cleaning doesn't hurt either!)

Dr. Ryan and the staff here are so nice and friendly. I am terrified of going to the dentist but they made my experience comfortable and enjoyable! Every single person I've interacted with has been extremely helpful and pleasant. Dr. Ryan is knowledgeable and makes sure you understand exactly what he's going to do to your teeth. You can just tell he loves his job. Parking is free and the appointment process was simple.

I have just completed my 1st visit Ezze was welcoming friendly & very patient I am a senior who.
