I was born nearby in Michigan City, IN, graduated from LaLumiere High School in LaPorte, IN, and received a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University, Bloomington. I graduated with honors from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2013 with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. After living in Grand Rapids, MI for three years, my husband Jim and I are excited to be back in the area. I love to learn and strive to stay current with the many advances in dentistry so I can provide quality dental care, and also be a reliable source of up-to-date dental education for my patients. In my free time, I love to play with my children Michael, Grace and Daniel, go for walks, practice yoga, and enjoy the summers on Lake Michigan.
Kristin joins our practice to return to Dentistry, the field she is truly passionate about! In her free time, Kristin loves riding horses and practicing yoga. We love having her on our team because of her fantastic organization and her desire to help our patients get the care they need!

Harbor Country Dental is a fee-for-service dental practice, which means full payments for dental services rendered will need to be arranged with our office prior to or on the date of service. This model allows us to provide the very best care to our patients as new care is evolving, rather than providing care within the constricted range of benefits a particular dental insurance company will allow under their plan. The treatment recommended by our office is always based on your individual needs, not on what a particular insurance company will cover.
Patients not utilizing traditional dental insurance qualify for our in-house Kleer membership plan. Its a simple, affordable, 12 month subscription that includes your routine dental care and discounts off other treatment. Our dental membership plan allows patients to enjoy the confidence of having regular preventative dental maintenance without the mark-up and hassle of traditional corporate dental benefit plans. Members also receive 15% on all other restorative treatment at the practice, and a 10% discount on Invisalign and Vivos growth appliances. As a courtesy to our patients utilizing out-of-network dental insurance benefits, our team will process dental insurance claims within 72 hours of treatment, and reimbursements will go directly to the plan subscriber. It is your responsibility to provide and update your insurance information. Knowledge of benefits as well as benefit amounts, limitations, exclusions, waiting periods, etc. is also entirely your responsibility. We encourage our patients to call their insurance companies for estimates on benefit coverage, and we will provide dental codes for you to use in discussing coverage with your insurance company. Please understand that we simply cannot know what your individual dental policy will cover, but that we are happy to help you get the information you need. Alternatively, our office can request a pre-authorization of insurance benefits upon your request. Benefit estimates are usually returned within 6 weeks. Please take the time to review your insurance contract thoroughly so we may best serve you. With your cooperation and help, you should be able to receive all of the benefits offered to you, and we will be able to concentrate on caring for your dental needs.

This was my first visit to Harbor County Dental. Everyone was super friendly and efficient. The office is modern and has all the latest equipment you would expect to find in a top notch practice. I would highly recommend.

Dr Knight and her staff are WONDERFUL. I went far too long avoiding the dentist because of experiences at other chain dentistry places. I had all but given up until I was referred to her. Not only do they treat you with genuine kindness, but they also do everything they can to make you comfortable and make sure your treatment (if needed) is affordable, including in house dental insurance for those that don't have it, as well as financing recommendations! My teen doesn't mind going into her office for routine things either, and I think that says a lot. If you're looking for a dentist office with a whole good vibe, this is the place.

I was able to get in almost immediately for a broken filling. Dr Knight and her assistant worked hard to repair the damage checking to see if I was ok often. It was a large repair. Thanks to them they fixed my tooth! Very patient with me figuring out the costs. I even signed up for Care Credit to be able to resume bi-yearly cleanings and bitewing xrays affordably. Excellent service and a beautifully clean office!

Outstanding Dental Practice! Everyone was so accommodating on a last minute emergency dental issue. True professionals from the receptionist to the hygienist to the doctor. I couldn't have asked for a more thorough and thoughtful dental experience.
