Dr. Archie Melcher was born and raised in Metairie, LA, where he currently lives. He attended Archbishop Rummel High School and earned his Bachelor on Science from Louisiana State University. Dr. Archie then completed his training at LSU Dental School in New Orleans, earning his D.D.S. Dr. Melcher loves getting to know his patients and tailor making the best possible treatment plan to meet each individual patient's needs. He takes pride in creating a comfortable environment for his patients, and staying up to date on the latest and best treatment options, by attending various study clubs and continuing education courses. Dr. Melcher is a member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the New Orleans Dental Association. In his spare time, Dr. Melcher enjoys hunting, fishing, cooking and enjoying the great music that the city of New Orleans has to offer. He is an avid fan of the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints.

I recently had a dental emergency, and Dr. Melcher was able to fit me in the same day. He even stayed an hour after closing to help me, and called to check on me the next day. I will definitely be sticking with him and his team!

Dr Melcher is very thorough, professional and friendly. I think he actually, truthfully cares for his patients ! His staff was also very friendly, and his office and equipment is spotless. I am definitely going to recommend him to my friends and family.

Wow, outstanding service. Professional, personable, and all around good experience. Great job Harahan Dental Care team. I have been to many of dentists in the past 27 years. From quick cleanings, fluoride treatments, baby root canals, root canals, crowns, filings, too many extractions, and I've almost done it all more than once... I would always leave most of the local practices feeling slighted. A few I have caught red handed in the, let's call it the "why do you want to do this procedure" zone. Of course it was because I'm one of those people who get a second, and sometimes third opinion. I've left a few practices and never went back because of this. Harahan Dental Care just washed all of that away. In short, it doesn't feel like a Mill. I can tell that the team takes pride in their practice. Straight shooters in their folks. I was only comfortable recommending 1 of my past Dental Care Practices to family/friends, and they had shut down/retired years ago. I just found another 1 that I am happy to recommend. If y'all read this, many thanks. See y'all on the next 1.

Yesterday was my first appointment at Harahan Dental. Everyone from the ladies at the front desk, dental hygienist, and of course Dr. Melcher were very friendly and informative. They made you feel very comfortable and at ease. Everyone is very professional and their work is first class. I learned so much about dental care that I never experienced in my seventy one years. They want you to have the best possible care and a good experience and I appreciate that. Looking forward to my dental experiences at Harahan Dental. Finished getting my teeth cleaned. Everything was fine. Cherie is very professional and very sweet.

Dr. Melcher is the best! He is extremely gentile, quick, and efficient. All of his staff are so nice and his hygienists do the best cleanings. His office is clean and always has me in and out with minimal wait time. I would highly recommend going to his office for anyone in need of dental work!
