Dr. Gary Toppi has been providing children with exceptional pediatric dental care for over 20 years. Highly educated and well trained, Dr. Toppi graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, in Boston, completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Sepulveda Veterans Hospital in Sepulveda, California, and then went on to complete his Pediatric Dentistry Residency at Indiana University. To stay up-to-date with the latest advancements, materials and techniques in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Toppi actively attends continuing education courses and lectures. Dr. Toppi enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his 11-year-old daughter. His hobbies include horseback riding, camping, hiking and water activities in and around San Diego. In his spare time, he is a foster parent to kittens from the County of San Diego Animal Shelter and volunteers at his daughters school. He participates in childrens dental screenings and school educational days for oral health.

We've been going to Dr. Toppi since 2020. Patient and caring staff. Thoroughly explain visits and address issues (if any) to me and my child. I have 2 littles, so it's helpful they have tablets with kid friendly games attached to the wall. Quick and efficient visits. The kiddos look forward to receiving a token for their in house prize machine. Also their text message/email reminder are very helpful.

Dr. Bagheri creates such a personable and individualized experience for his patients and I couldn't recommend his office more. The way he interacts with kids as their dentist makes them feel so calm and his ability to make them feel excited to go to the dentist instead of feeling scared is so commendable. Definitely have your kids see him for their next cleaning or for any other dental needs, it's a great office for the little ones!

So we've been bringing our daughter here since she was 2 and Doctor T has always been so kind to her and us. They're staff is great too, it's worth the drive to come here we live in Lakeside and we adore this place it's professional and comforting.

Wonderful staff! Great with my five year old and two year old boys! Very patient. They were quick, but thorough. My boys left excited to come back. Picking a toy at the end of the visit was a nice plus! Highly recommend!

This place is really close to our neighborhood and seemed to have decent reviews (even if they were older) so we tried them out back in September. My son has been seeing a dentist since he was 2 years old (he's 5 now) and I'm a self-proclaimed nut about oral hygiene. We brush 2x a day and we floss 1x a day. My son does have sweets about 1x a day and he drinks water 95% of the time. So that's our backstory. Fast forward to September 2017 and we had our first visit with the office. It was a little hard to find the office because it's buried among a facade of brown office doors. The front desk staff was nice and checked us in quickly. The waiting room was clean, quiet and colorful. We were called back and seated in an exam room and although it was small, it was thoughtfully decorated and set up for examining kids. We went over to the xray area and they took the xrays and the tech did a good job of helping my son be at ease. We went back to the exam room and waited about 10 min or less until Dr Toppi came in. He reviewed the x rays and then proceeded to tell us my son had between 4 and 8 cavities! I was speechless! (See back to our history at the top of this review!) I asked him to explain more and he pointed to the xrays to show me where he "for sure" saw 4 and then showed me the other areas where he suspected there were more but said he wouldn't be sure until he was in there (during the fillings). He asked about my son's food allergies and when I told him he said he'd have to refer me to another doctor because the sedative he used had egg in it & that's one of my son's allergies. I asked if they had to be filled or if we could just wait until they fell out since they were baby teeth but he said they would need to be addressed quickly. Still stunned and shell shocked, I got the referral card and we left pretty quickly. I was just really feeling in my gut that 4 to 8 cavities couldn't be right, especially since we had just seen our previous dentist 6 months before and had a stellar check up! We made the appointment with the new dentist and drove almost an hour to get there. We waited a while (they were a busy office) and finally got called back. The Dr asked how we were and what the reason for our visit was. We told him we were referred for fillings for my son's supposed mouthful of cavities. He took a look over the xrays and then examined my son's mouth and then pretty much rolled his eyes and said my son didn't have any cavities. He said he could see where *MAYBE* a dentist could think they might be but he said after examination he was 100% sure Brady didn't have any and sent us on our way. The whole thing took less than 15 min. So while I was relieved to have good news about his oral health, I was also really confused. How could one dentist say we had 4, possibly 8 cavities and then less than 2 and a half weeks later another dentist say we have none!? We went home, have continued our brushing and flossing as usual. As of this review, we have now seen a THIRD dentist in the area because I feel like we need to start over new and get the deciding opinion - who was truly right?!? (*I'm leaning toward the dentist who's evaluation lines up with our history and our dental habits at home, since that is the most rational voice.) The checkup came back clear - no cavities present. So all that being said, the office at Dr Toppi's place was friendly and helpful, but I have little faith in the Dr's evaluation skills and truthfully was scared off by what appeared to be (based on the second opinion and third opinions) a pushy ploy for oral surgery. No thank you.
