Hi. I am Dr. Rylan J. Hansen, but feel free to call me Dr. Hansen, Dr. H., Rylan or even Dancin Hansen.Thank you so much for visiting and please allow me to take a moment to introduce myself. People are often surprised by the path I took to become a dentist. I grew up in Southern Idaho and Northern Utah where my parents raised me righteven if it wasnt in the South. After high school, I began working for the family business as an apprentice electrician. While I enjoyed working with my hands and with my family, I had a strong desire for other career paths. After moving to my wife, Rachaels, home state of NC, I attended theUniversity of North Carolina for my undergraduate studies in biology. I quickly realized I wanted to pursue a career in health care and I began to see how the field of dentistry perfectly blended my desire to work with my hands and provide health care to patients. I completed my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill.
Fourteen years ago I would have never dreamed that I would one day have a career that I loved, that I was passionate about, that I found fulfilling. But that is what dentistry is for me. It is my passion. And it is why I am so committed each day to helping you achieve the healthy smile of your dreams! It is also why I am often found humming and singing while I work or dancing in the halls, hence Dancin Hansen. Now, more than decade later, North Carolina is home. It is where Rachael and I love raising our family which has now grown to include four children, Rylee, Landon, Adelaide and Audrey. We, along with our amazing family of staff at Hansen Dentistry, look forward to getting to know you and your family.
My name is Liz and I am from High Point, NC. I started working in the dental field a few years ago after working as a Certified Nursing Assistant. The dental field is a much better fit for me and my favorite thing about my job is helping patients feel confident about their dental treatment. I also love providing a comfortable environment in which they can receive that treatment.
My name is Maryand I am originallyfrom Michigan but moved to Cary in 1995. I attendedNCSU and graduated in 2009. I then decided to continue my studies by pursuing dental hygiene. I completed the Wake Tech Dental Hygiene Program in 2012.
I love to read, hike, and bake and spend quality time with my two beautiful daughters and my husband!My heart will always be in Raleigh. I love the food, different scenes, exceptional natural areas, and everything there is to do!
Hey there! My name is Rachael Hansen and I have been a Dental Hygienist since 2007. I grew up in Chapel Hill, NC and when I was in high school I started my first job working at a dental office. I was hooked. Ever since then I have known I wanted to work in the dental field but had no idea that I would one day be married to a dentist as well! I attended the University of North Carolina where I studied at the UNC School of Dentistry and received my for my Bachelors in Dental Hygiene. During dental school, Dr. Hansen and I attended a Christmas Parade downtown on Salem Street and it was then that we fell in love with Apex and decided that after graduation, we wanted to make this area our forever home.
I consider myself very lucky to be a part of a profession that I love! I love coming to work every day and working with our outstanding staff and patients. My favorite part of my job is when a patient tells me that this was their best dental experience ever! I love getting to know our patients and their families and look forward to watching our families grow together. I have worked with many dentists but being able to work alongside Dr. Hansen has been a dream come true. I have so much confidence in the quality of his work and in his steadfastness in remaining ethical and conservative. I know, better than anyone, that he holds himself to a very high standard!
I love Mediterranean Food, Almond M&Ms and Goodberrys Frozen Custard. I am a lifelong Tarheel Fan. I love running and cooking. My favorite thing to do is having campfires in the backyard with Dr. Hansen and our four children.
My name is Jessica and I am a native to North Carolina. I grew up in Wilmington, NC and love the Tarheels! I wanted to be in the dental field for as long as I can remember. In high school at my own dentists office and knew it would be a great fit for me. I went to UNC Chapel Hill (my dream schoolGo Heels!) and got my BS in Dental Hygiene in 2007.
My favorite thing about my job is when I am able to help patients feel their best and educate them on how to stay feeling that way. Its amazing when a patient comes in feeling nervous about dental treatment and leaves the office saying they had a great experience. I enjoy getting to know my patients and keeping up with their families. They become like friends after many years and its fun to watch their children grow up. I feel lucky to work in an environment where our team works together and becomes like familyit makes it feel less like work! In addition to practicing dental hygiene in the private practice setting, I have also enjoyed teaching as an adjunct faculty at UNC School of Dentistry. Its fun to teach at my Alma mater and take the knowledge and experience from over 10 years in the field and share that with others who are just starting their career.
Two things I enjoy doing in my spare time are going to the beach in the summer and going to football games/tailgating in the fall. But my most favorite activity is spending time with my husband and our new baby, not matter what we are doing! I look forward to sharing the beach and football with him as he grows up.
Hey there. My name is Christina. I grew up in Maryland. I started in dentistry when a close friend suggested I try dental assisting. During my schooling I fell in love with working with patients and their smiles and I knew dentistry was the right path for me.
Hi! My name is Sarah and I grew up in Paterson, New Jersey. My favorite sports teams are the NY Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. I started in dentistry because of the impact my orthodontist had in my life. He decided to take on my complicated case and, although it wasnt always easy, the effect my treatment had on my confidence left a lasting impression. I thoughtif this can happen to me, I know it can happen for someone else! I found that inspiring and knew I wanted to be a part of that kind of team. My favorite thing about my job is when patients walk out with a brand new smile and feel that same confidence! I also love getting to know patients, their families, and building relationships with them. My favorite food is Ropa vieja and chicken francaise. Traveling to Cuba and Africa are on my bucket list and in my spare time, my favorite things to do are read and take photos.
