Orthodontics is a type of dentistry focused on the correction of improper bites and tooth irregularity. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, orthodontists make up the largest group of dental specialists. These dental professionals help patients of any age improve tooth and jaw problems and can also assist those who desire merely cosmetic improvements.
According to the American Association of Orthodontists [AAO], archaeologists discovered Greek and Etruscan dental appliances that indicate humans began practicing orthodontics as early as 1000 B.C. The Smithsonian Institute cites Edward Angle, founder the Angle School of Orthodontia in 1900, as the father of modern orthodontics. This American dentists work included establishing orthodontics as a dental specialty and classifying many teeth and jaw abnormalities. Angle also innovated the procedures and devices used to help correct such issues.
Orthodontists specialize in correcting a variety of dental problems. Some of the issues revised by orthodontic procedures include: difficulty chewing, crowding of teeth, missing teeth, speech difficulties, protruding teeth, irregular bite and facial imbalances.
The most common form of orthodontic treatment is the installation of dental braces that help straighten teeth, remove gaps, and correct overbites. Braces are often used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances such as headgear and expansion appliances to influence the growth of teeth in younger patients. Retainers are often worn to help ensure teeth remain in their new position after braces have been removed. The American Dental Association states that in some cases, orthodontists may choose to use surgery to modify the teeth and jaw.
Straight teeth are easier to keep clean and are more effective in biting, chewing, and speaking than teeth with abnormalities. People who have had orthodontic treatments also report having fewer dental complications later in life.

I called this office to request a copy of all of my records. I was told that the front desk had to ask permission from the doctor to release my records to me, which wouldn't be done for some days. I've never had an issue obtaining my records from anywhere, except this place. Sounds pretty illegal and shady-like. I wouldn't recommend this place.

I've been seeing Dr. Shirali Patel for almost a decade. Her along with her staff are awesome. She has helped me through many difficult dental procedures and I wouldn't trust anyone else. Thank you Dr. Patel.

There is 1 month wait for your appointment, so plan ahead or find a dentist that is less busy. Also, you spend at least 25 min in the waiting room, and another 15 min on the chair before you see the doctor.

I'm really big on customer service and this office with over and beyond from the front desk all the way to seeing the Doctor omg he was amazing. This was my first time visiting this office, and let me tell you I'm glad I came today. Mrs.,Theresa thank you for all your help with making sure I was able to see the doctor & taking care of my insurance for me if no one every told you thank you & your appreciate it I'm telling you today. Thank you! I came in so nerves & left feeling incredible. I want to personally thank this amazing Doctor again he really made me feel at home & you as well Ms.Bell. Made an appointment for 12:30pm and confirmed with them prior to the appointment as well as them calling to confirm the appointment but when we got there on time for the appointment they said we missed the appointment when the voicemail and confirmation was clearly for 12:30pm. The staff was completely rude about it. The phone recording states lunch is from 1:30-2:30pm but when we were there at 12:30 they said everyone was at lunch. One thing to have lack of communication from their side for the appointment timing but another thing to be rude and unprofessional about it. Won't recommend anyone this clinic.

Will never gonna go again doctors are giving wrong advice and they just do time pass and never expain in detail what's wrong with teeth and feels like uninterested to treat their patients. Really unsatisfied

The only reason I gave 1 star is because I can't give 0. In the 37 years of my life I have never dealt with such incompetence. I called to confirm my crown fitting because they never called me and they tried saying they called because my insurance never authorized the crown and I had to tell them it's because I didn't have dental insurance and had to tell her that Iwasthe one who called them. Like that was so hard to find out for them. Then after my root canal when I went in for my permanent filling the dental assistant was so incompetent that the dentist had to repeat commands to her 3-4 times before she did things the correct way. The filling was more painful than my 2 hour root canal. Then they were supposed to call me when the crown came in and 2 weeks later I called them and they said they have my crown but no availability for the rest of the month. Maybe if I was contacted when it came in they would've been able to put it in right away. And this isn't just a bad day or misunderstanding it's something every single time I come in. Literally the dentist is the only competent person there.

This place is a insurance gouging scam. I requested my X-rays 6 times after I filled out the form and 6xs I was told I would have them by the end of the day and it never happened. After ckng my insurance I was charged for cleanings that never happened. I've started an investigation into my file because it's obvious they're hiding something there's no reason why they can't release my file and they asked me what did I need it for..doesn't matter what I needed it for I paid for..ck your billing with this office anyone else thinking of coming here don't do it

If I can go lower than 1 star I would definitely do! Caution people! Be aware of Dr. Gungeep Singh , please don't let her do implants on you... I don't even think she is qualified to do so. This has been the worst experience in my life with a dentist! I Never write reviews, but what I have experience and still going thru after 1 visit with this dentist changed my life. What she did was not placing the implant in the bone, which it ended up with severe infection, lots of antibiotics, mental health issues, 2 oral surgeries and 6 months later still no implant and no tooth. And when I reached out to her do to the additional costs I have gotten because of her.... She has ignored me! Hopefully people read reviews now these days.... I know I will from now on and do my research for sure! I believe in KARMA!
