Hanna Hanania, D.D.S., P.C. - General dentist in Woodbridge, VA

Hello, I am Dr. Hanna Hanania. I am the oldest of three children. My brother, sister, and I have amazing parents. They instilled many important values in my siblings and I, such as honesty and respect. They also taught us self-confidence, excellent communication and problem solving skills. I grew up in Ramallah Palestine; just 16 miles north to the old city of Jerusalem. After graduating from Friends High School, I moved to the United States to attend the University of Maryland. In 1997, I completed my Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biochemistry and Political Science. From there, I decided to continue my educational journey and follow in my fathers footsteps to become a dentist. I applied to University of Marylands School of Dentistry. In 2001, I graduated with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

I relocated to Virginia and became an associate in a corporate dental practice.Growing up watching my father practice dentistry, I realized that I didnt just want to be a good dentist. I got a piece of paper and wrote down the qualities that I thought I should possess. My list included excellent communication skills, to be detailed oriented, to have patience, to be organized, and to be committed to my patients (after all my patients would become my dental family). While developing my list of qualities to become the best dentist that I could be, I evaluated my beliefs of a dental practice. At that point I discovered that the corporate practice where I was an associate was not meeting the criteria that I needed to obtain my professional goals. I believed it was in the best interest of my patients, my dental team, and I to purchase the corporate practice and create the vision that my team and I had for our patients. Time has moved so quickly. Its hard to believe that it's been almost 20 years since I first wrote my professional desires on that scratch paper. I have continued to write that vision over and over every year while adding to it.

Dentistry continues to progress creating a need to continue my education. Attending many dental seminars helps me to educate my patients and introduce new technologies into our practice. Being a member of the American Dental Society and its local branch organizations (The Virginia Dental Society, The Northern Virginia Dental Society and The Woodbridge Dental Society) allows me a source for local continuing education, as well as access to exclusive resources.

Hanna Hanania, D.D.S., P.C. - General dentist in Woodbridge, VA

I am honored to say I still have the original team/dental family of four that I started my practice with. These ladies have literally been my second hands. Over the years as we have continued to grow, I have added other team members to our dental family. All of these ladies have been the backbone of my practice.

Though Dentistry is my true passion, I have other interests. I feel it is important to give back to our community. I am extremely active in our surrounding area and neighborhood schools. I help fund local foundations and donate my time and services to non-profit organizations. I am a board member of the Holy Land Christians Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF). I also believe that it is important to remember where you came from. I return home every year to provide dental services to people of Palestine. I am the founder and chairman of the United Arab Students Association (UASA) and Network of Arab American Professionals (NAAP). I recently held the position of the National President of the American Federation of Ramallah, Palestine. I was part of a wonderful team that helped form a coalition for Palestinian American Organizations across the United States as well as a chairman of Al-Awda and Arab-American Leadership Council in Virginia.

I am not only about work, politics, and our community. I recognize that my foundation starts at home. None of my greatest accomplishment was possible without the support of my wife. She is my soulmate and the one who helps keeps me grounded. She and our three children are my biggest cheerleaders. My life is truly blessed

Dr. Sri completed her Dental schooling and later a Masters program in Endodontics in her home country, India. It was while she was teaching Dentistry there that she met her future husband, Dr. Jeevan Errabolu. She moved to the USA in 2007 to join him. In order to continue her practice of Dentistry, she joined a 2 year residency program at the reputed Eastman Dental Center, Rochester, NY.

Dr. Sri and family later moved to the Mid Atlantic area where she worked at Neibauer Dental Care in Stafford, VA. Due to the needs of her growing family, Dr. Sri took a sabbatical from Dentistry, moved to the Eastern shore of MD and spent the next 3 years as a stay at home mom to her sons, Jai and Hari. In the beginning of 2014, the family moved to Herndon, VA. With her kid's soon starting school and her desire to go back to Dentistry, she felt now was the time to join a practice. We are happy to have Dr. Sri as part of our team.

In Dr. Sri 's own words, 'I love the opportunity Dentistry gives me to make a difference in people 's lives. I want to provide patients with quality treatment to best restore their health, meanwhile making it pleasant. I would also like to do my best in educating the patients about their dental health and also break the stigma of fear of dentistry and dentists.'

During that time it allowed Christal to gain the experience to understand the knowledge in each facet of dentistry. This diverse background continues to allow Christal to think outside the box and is that aspect of her that makes her a valuable asset to our patients, dental team, and practice. When Christal was asked for the reason that she has made dentistry her career, her response was After 20 plus years of working in dentistry, I can honestly say I love and am passionate about what I do and remain challenged on a daily basis. There are always new and exciting advancements to help patients obtain their treatment goals, as well as their safety and comfort. She continued by adding, My goal is to provide dental services in a relaxed, caring atmosphere, while educating our patients, so that they can improve their oral health and self-confidence of their smile, thus contributing to the well-being of their general health.

Practicing excellent dental hygiene helps to avoid unhealthy teeth, gum disease and costly dental treatments. This is why a good homecare routine is so important. Brushing and flossing daily can save you money and time at the dental office as well as enabling you to eat healthy and enjoy good food.

in your mouth. Plaque is a sticky film that builds up on your teeth and contributes to cavities, gum disease and bad breath. Although most people brush their teeth daily, many do not floss regularly. Flossing should be done once daily at a time of day that best fits into your schedule so that you are more likely to comply.

  • Work the floss in between two teeth. Wrap the floss in a C-shape along the side of each individual tooth and gently move slowly under the gum line until you feel resistance. Carefully move the floss upward and continue along the sides of all teeth.
  • Do not move the floss straight up and down as this will cause damage and inflammation of the gums. When you first begin flossing, your gums may be tender or bleeding slightly. If this is persistent you can call our office for advice.
