The panel discussion and presentation on Biofilm through Beyond Oral Health was exceptional!

The panel discussion tonight had excellent panelists all extremely knowledgeable and professionally distinguished. The topic of Biofilm and the Systemic connection is so poignant. This level of education for patients as well as physicians is definitely where our profession needs to focus. Ann Guignon was so right to point out the world is listening to "comorbidities" and how they relates to susceptibility and potential for systemic disease. Our future is in our hands. Working with our own practitioners is the first step, developing treatment protocals and obtaining the necessary tools is extremely important. As we implement broader systemic health based treatment, the need to utilize proper codeology is vital to influencing change in the insurance world. Becoming unencumbered by insurance is better. However, working thru the insurance diagnostic codes could help validate the systemic link perhaps, helping medicine work more closely with dental professionals. There are many layers to implementing a paradigm shift. Dentistry is at a cross roads. We have so many brilliant professionals that continue to lead the way. It is undeniable that oral health impacts all systems in the body. Beyond Oral Health is doing a great job of making dentistry take notice. We ARE better together!

Great presentation. I wish I had something like this early in my profession. If more new dentists had courses like this they would be successful earlier in their careers.

Loved the biology of this Beyond Oral Health zoom! The pictures and the videos of the amoeba and spirochetes congregating...beautiful, colorful, reality! A great way to teach pts about how this relates to their overall health and wellness. Love learning by zoom!

Dr. Hanlon taught us a lot today. She was very patient in explaining and showing us how to take the pictures. She explained everything very clearly and thoroughly. Thank you so much for coming in and teaching us about dental photography.

Dr. Hanlon is an amazing faculty at Tufts and her course is fantastic. I love doing these weekly check ins, information, and assignments! As a very ambitious student, I personally feel that I need lots of mentor-ship and coaching to continue driving forward, and Dr. Hanlon's Study club has provided exactly that. We're blessed to be a part of this Cohort :)
