Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between six months to two years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

I brought my 12 year old daughter to Dr. Thariani's office when her dentist informed me she needed orthodontic treatment. She just had her braces placed yesterday and had a wonderful experience, as did I. From the front desk, to the financial coordinator, to the assistant and the doctor. Dr. Thariani not only explained to me what to expect during the appointment, he was explaining it to my daughter as well. He explained it to her the same way he was explaining it to me and that made her feel very mature and special. I highly recommend Dr. Thariani and his practice and look forward to my daughters next appointment!

Dr. Thariani and his staff are wonderful! I needed Invisalign to correct a minor overbite and growing problems with my bottom teeth. The staff were professional and kind, and made me feel like family every time I came in for my aligners. Really wonderful place and would recommend to anyone.

I recently had my son's first orthodontic appointment. He was getting his seperators . When we were called , they took our son for an x ray. After me and my husband finished signing the documents, we were asked to wait outside. After sometime I noticed that they started the procedure on my son. We immediately went in and reassured that we were right there with him. He is 9 and was very apprehensive about his treatment. It was very disappointing that they just did not care to bring us in and let him handle it alone. I am sorry that the first appointment wasnt a good experience. I would ideally expect them to call us together explain what they are going to do and then start it when we were around.
