Dr. Kim attended the University of Maryland Dental School and completed his Orthodontic Specialty training at Columbia University in New York. He has over 15 years of clinical orthodontic experience after a four-year career as an Assistant Clinical Professor in Restorative Dentistry at Columbia University.
Dr. Kim focuses on maximizing the benefits of growth and development of children in two-stage early treatment and of an intervention program that includes identifying and changing bad habits, such as thumb sucking and tongue thrusting, that can cause maligned teeth. This intervention will thereby reduce the need for braces. He also specializes in accelerated adult orthodontics whereby patients are scheduled on a more frequent basis, reducing the length of treatment.
To stay abreast of the latest advancements in the orthodontic field, Dr. Kim maintains memberships in many prestigious professional organizations. He is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Velebit Duzdevich received his Bachelors of Science from Herbert H. Lehman College in Anthropology and Biology and Chemistry. He then received his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1990. As a young doctor, he worked in various union dental mills where he learned this was not the way people should be treated.
In his search to be a better practitioner, Dr. Duzdevich became an attending doctor at St. Barnabas Hospitals Correctional Facility. Later, for many years, as an Associate Professor of New York Medical College at St. Claires Hospital (the very same hospital in which he was born in), and St. Vincents Medical Center, he helped trained numerous young doctors undergoing their residencies.
He also became an Associate Professor at the New York University School of Dentistry to fulfill his desire to mentor dental students in the science and art of his profession. After those many years of associate professorship and attending at hospitals, it was time to concentrate his discipline in private practice.
Dr. Duzdevich and his brother founded their own practice with the intent on providing extraordinary dentistry, working out of the west side of Manhattan. Dr. D, as his patients have come to call him, has also become an asset and a valued member of Hampton Family Dentistry as well. Being hospital trained, patients are infrequently referred out and almost all dental work is done on the premises.
To perfect his art, Dr. Velebit pursued specialized education in bone and soft tissue regeneration, which led to a Fellowship and a Masters in Dental Implant with the American Dental Implant Association. As a result of his personality, higher education and over twenty years working in his profession, he has become an integrate part of Hampton Family Dentistry.

Used to love this practice until new unprofessional employees have made it rather difficult to communicate. It is uncalled for and completely unprofessional to handle your clients in this matter. I requested proper documentation to authorize a claim for a service performed 7 MONTHS AGO that they have not bothered submitting and even after getting my insurance company involved Tiffany has continued to hang up on me and not do her part. I am proud to say I will never return to this practice and I wouldn't dream of recommending them even in DIRE CIRCUMSTANCES

I went here for years , Dr.Kim was amazing with my daughter when she got her braces ...I stopped going after Dr. Velebit Duzdevich started practicing here ..He is condescending unprofessional and makes snide comments. He was so unbelievably rude . He did a bone graph that ended up failing on a tooth I had a previous root canal done there that got infected ..

Never returning. Went for a cleaning and X-rays which went fine. Had to schedule a cavity fill as a follow up. #1- they rescheduled on me two times the morning of the appointment. #2 they called me AFTER filling my cavity while I was in the parking lot to ask me if I had taken my pre-meds prior to the appointment due a minor heart murmur. Not only did they not advise me to take the medication prior, they also managed to miss in my chart where it was listed that I had a murmur until AFTER they filled the cavity. Terribly mismanaged. I never write reviews but here I am because this could have been much worse.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could.. I got a root canal done the doctor had to do it 3 times because the first time wasn't successful and even now my tooth still hurts. My husband got a crown done it broke after a couple months he went back an the dentist wanted to charge him $4,300 for a tooth implant.. money hungers.. worst place ever!

This dentist office is incredibly mismanaged!! For years my family and I have been going to Hampton dentistry in Walden New York. Unfortunately the Walden office closed. We decided to go to Hampton dentistry in Middletown, like night and day. Walden was run like a well oiled machine, middletown not the same. First we were told our records could be transferred from Walden to Middletown, then we were told they don't do that. They never return your phone calls, the people at the front window argue with each other right in front of the patients. I went for two visits, the first one the dentist was not present with the office staff stating he was stuck in traffic and would not be there. On a second visit he was there, had no idea why I was there, even though I had to fill out the same paperwork twice. With one of the ladies at the office windows saying "it's a mess here, we must've lost your paperwork "One x-ray was taken, no follow ups no direction as to where I'm going from here, and NO return phone calls. After a while, I gave up and went to another dentist office. Three months later I get a bill for $150.00. No explanation nothing, just the bill. Of course we called and explain the situation. Nasty office manager as well as lady in charge of billing. Said " I was there and the bill stands" When I mentioned I was going to give a negative review, they said go ahead. I'm now learning through friends and neighbors, that they are having these issues too. Long story short I paid the bill and they lost me as a patient my daughters and their husbands and all the kids, as well as any other neighbor that I can tell the story too.

Dr. Kim is a wonderful orthodontist. Unfortunately the staff does not understand how to obtain insurance reimbursement. It is not the patient's fault if the office does not submit requested information and documentation to insurance companies to receive payment. I received notice from my insurer that basic information was requested five times from the office. This is unacceptable. When I call the office it is difficult to speak with someone. They sometimes don't return calls or answer emails. If you are waiting for invisalign trays to come in, they will not proactively call you to schedule an appointment once they arrive. You have to call them. It's a shame there is no attention to detail in this office. The staff is very pleasant and kind, just incompetent at times.

Highly skilled professionals with staff that is friendly, helpful and always willing to make your visit a positive experience. Dr. Kim, the Orthodontist, works miracles. He is kind, gentle and takes great pride in making you look your best. I also love the way the staff decorates the office for all of the major holidays. A very nice atmosphere all the way around!
