During that time Dr. Nubani gained proficiency in the disciplines of oral surgery, root canal treatment, removable prosthetics, crown and bridge. In addition to clinical proficiencies Dr. Nubani gained valuable knowledge in treating medically compromised patients. Through this education, she developed a more holistic approach to oral health and now considers the overall health of her patients in relation to the health of their teeth.
Dr. Nubani regularly takes continuing education courses to learn the latest technological advances in dentistry. When not volunteering their services to the community, Dr. Nubani and her husband, Dr. Cyrus Safizadeh, enjoy skiing, hiking, and camping. They have a passion for the outdoors which is why they find so much delight living in the Pioneer Valley. They carry strong family values and are thrilled to provide love and care to their community. Dr. Nubani & her husband recently welcomed their first child and live in Amherst MA.
During college as part of his work study Dr. Cyrus was an afterschool teacher at Pelham Elementary School in Pelham, Massachusetts for 4 years. Dr. Cyrus was also an overnight summer camp counselor for Camp Lanakila in Vermont. These experiences allowed Dr. Cyrus to gain an immense understanding of what working with children involves.
Early during dental school Dr. Cyrus realized the joys of pediatric dentistry and eagerly pursed applying to pediatric dentistry specialty programs. While at UConn Dr. Cyrus became the president of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Pre-Doctoral Organization (UConn chapter), the Special Olympicsstudent coordinator, aswell as founded the Special Care Dentistry Student Interest Group.
Additionally, during dental school Dr. Cyrus was awarded numerous scholarships & awards including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Pre-Doctoral Student Excellence Award, the Dr. Peter Decker Academic Enhancement Scholarship, and the CAPFAA (Connecticut Association of Professional Financial Aid Administration) Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded to dental students who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to community service & academic performance.
Dr. Cyrus is interested in research and providing modernized care. His research projects have been on the subjects on antibiotic prescribing practices & overuse (completed while at Uconn) as well as examining the effectiveness of silver diamine fluoride (completed at Columbia University).
