First Id like to say that they are truly unprofessional and only interested in their bottom line. I was seen by doctor Hammond Due to his incompetence administration of the numbing injection I was left with a lack of feeling and movement of my lip on the right side of my face. It took 8 months to get some feeling and movement back. I still have a numb feeling in my chin. I then had another emergency I called in to make an appointment because I figured it would be easier to obtain an emergency appointment with an established office. I was given an appointment two weeks in the future with a doctor I was told would be out of network because my in network doctor had no open appointment available. I agreed and even gave up my future appointment because I was under the impression my situation would be handled. I was sadly disappointed I was given Xrays and waited to have work done but the doctor came in looked at X-rays and said I would have to make an appointment to do the work. I was then billed 145.00 for nothing. Beware they rope you in and leave you high and dry in pain.

My family and I have been treated by Drs. Hammond and Couch in Cameron Park for many years, but for some reason I never considered a review for a doctor. I have never received anything less than fantastic treatment from these two dentists, who are skilled, thoughtful, and work hard to minimize any discomfort; my hygienist is incredibly thorough, gentle, and friendly. The office staff is professional and efficient, and I have never experienced any billing or insurance errors. The practice values my time and seems to take steps to make sure the patients are not unduly delayed. No one in the office has ever been dismissive, and they take whatever time is necessary to answer my questions regarding my care or costs. It's weird, but I feel I have my best and most consistent "customer service" experiences at my dentist's office.

STAY AWAY from them. Rude Staff. DO Not let their FAKE smile fool you. Before doing my tooth there, they checked with my insurance and said they are in network with them, but it turned out they lied and they were actually out of network. I was told that the total cost would be $100. after I paid in full on the day, they kept sending me a new bill after one month, which for no reason was going up from $50 to $200. So a very basic and small cavity filling was over $500. They totally miss inform you on the day, to just get you to do your job there, and then keep charging you, because they lie to you that they work with your insurance and coverage. The worst part was when I called their office to talked about this issue and resolve it, she talked to me rudely and was liked it is was it is and we never said that, and just hang up on me. The worst experience that I have ever had. I am going to file a complaint against them because what they do is totally wrong and unfair to the patients.

I left a highly rated dentist in EDH for a variety of reasons, but mainly because they looked at me like a bank account with teeth. From billing, to procedures, to extra appointments. I Always felt like they were working me, and my troublesome grill, for extra cash. It was so bad I let small problems become big one's because I didn't want to go in. From the moment I walked into Couch and Hammond I felt like they were there for me. They combined appointments so I could get them knocked out in one day. Including a late-in-life wisdom teeth extraction that went so smoothly, I would have gotten it done years ago if I had been with them in my 20s. They worked with our multiple insurance providers until they had secured the lowest possible hit to my monies, making my least favorite part of dentistry their concern and not mine. I'm not sure what you're looking for in a Dentist, but if you want a team that will minimize the BS and put the patient first, these are the folks for you.

Super friendly staff all around. They all made me feel extremely comfortable being there. Dr. Couch explained my options really well and so far I'm impressed with the attention he gave me and my dental issues. His dental assistant Angie was wonderful at explaining what she was doing and why. I appreciated being treated so kindly by everyone in an atmosphere that generally causes me a lot of anxiety. Stacy at the front worked me in for all I needed in one day so I wouldn't need to miss another day of work. Highly recommended!

Wife's exam yielded a "necessary $2300" in cleanings and fillings. I went back to the office just to make sure I was reading everything correctly. I went to a different dentist and both my sons and I combined are under $1000 for cleanings, fillings, etc. I canceled future appointments with Couch and Hammond and my wife has done the same. What a rip off. I understand everyone has to up-sell to make more money for their business however, I specifically asked what is covered by insurance and what is necessary and was still up sold to the $2300. Very disappointed and DO NOT recommend.

I have been a patient of Dr. Couch's for 14 years, and I have had a positive experience at every visit. Dr. Couch is gentle, patient, and genuinely concerned about the well-being of his patients. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Couch and Hammond Dentistry to anyone seeking caring, quality dental care.
