Hi my name is Claudia. After 10 years working as a computer programmer analyst, I had changed careers when I had my only son because I wanted to make a check and balance as a working mom to raise him. Since 1999, I had started my career as a dental assistant in general dentistry and then prosthodontics, oral surgery, periodontist; I am now very pleased to be working for Dr. Cha and Dr. Jiang in endodontics. With over 20 years of experience in dentistry, I learned that respect, compassion, and care are very important qualities to take on our patients as I brush up my technical dental skills to keep up with CPR certification, infection control, and X-ray certifications. Working with professional and caring doctors, we try our best to make an overall different experience of a comfortable and healthy environment for our patients. Family time, gardening, music, and art expositions are my activities for my leisure time.
Dr. Jin Jiang, originally from Chengdu, China, came to the United States and completed the endodontic residency program combined with Ph.D degree in biomedical science at University of Connecticut in 2001. She has worked as a full-time faculty member first at the University of Florida College of Dentistry and later at University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. While serving as a faculty member in dental schools, she taught, supervised dental students and residents in the clinic and advised endodontic postgraduate residents on their research projects.
Dr. Jiang has authored and co-authored more than 50 publications in the field of Endodontics with a focus on pathogenesis of dental disease and biologic principles of treatment. She has been elected to the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics where she reviews various research articles related to the field of Endodontology. Her background in teaching and research greatly strengthened her ability to aid patients at a higher level in their health care decisions as it pertains to their Endodontic needs.
In 2010, Dr. Jiang joined Dr. Cha in the limited practice of Endodontics in Hamden, Connecticut while still working as a part-time faculty member at the Division of Endodontology at the University of Connecticut. Since 2014, she has focused on patient care at Hamden and New Haven offices as a full time practitioner. Dr. Jiang provides excellent Endodontic care to her patients with a calming manner and a smile.
Dr. Chas practice is limited to endodontics which is a specialty of dentistry to preserve and maintain the natural teeth and prevent tooth loss. By applying the state-of-the art technology and up-to-date scientific knowledge, modern endodontic treatment is highly successful in keeping people from losing teeth. Dr Cha has been a dentist for 37 years and an active full-time endodontist in the Greater New Haven area for 30 years. He has been involved with teaching at Yale New Haven Hospital and UCONN School of Dental Medicine as a volunteer part time faculty member. Dr. Cha strives to serve every single patient with exceptional and comfortable treatment in a gentle manner. Dr. Cha is strongly supported by a team of knowledgeable and caring staff members who work together with him to provide the best successful outcome for the patients they serve.

Waited almost 2 hours for a simple cone beam xray and 'consult'. After making me wait 2 hours, my so called 'consult' was rushed and my questions left unanswered. Maybe Dr Cha is better, but the woman that i saw made me feel rushed after having me wait as long as i did.

Dr Cha and his entire staff (Marisol and Toni) were kind and professional. Dr Cha explained every step to me, made sure I was comfortable and explained the follow up instructions to me in detail.

I will first start by saying that I never had a root canal before and was very hesitant. After delaying for 10 months thru this pandemic. I decided (along with my dentist) to see Dr. Cha for a 3rd opinion. Dr Cha along with his staff made my root canal completely painless. I'm writing this the day after and have had no need for any advil or tylenol at all. I dont even feel like anything was done! The whole staff is top notch. Dr. Cha is top notch. He explains everything as he goes along. Has an excellent bedside manner and is extremely patient and understanding of any concerns you may have. Toni (his assistant) is very knowledgeable and wonderfully calming. I would recommend Dr Cha to anyone that needs any endodontic work without hesitation. For the record, I never meet him before, I know noone in the office and I am not related nor know anyone that is to him. And, lastly, this is the first review I ever posted . I would give him/them more than 5 stars if I could.

Dr. Cha recently saved me from over 2 years of chronic tooth pain thanks to superior expertise and advanced technology that other dentists lack. I had 3 dentists take both x-rays and digital pics of the area that was causing me extreme pain to the point where i couldn't chew on that side at all. Each x-ray showed nothing wrong. Those dentists concluded I was grinding my teeth at night. I finally went to Dr. Cha and within 15 minutes, after imaging the area with his 3D CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomogram) machine, diagnosed an abscess in that tooth requiring immediate root canal. The difference after the root canal is amazing and the tooth area has returned to health. I never before realized the extreme diagnostic limitations of dental x-rays. If you have tooth pain that is not being diagnosed by x-rays or digital photos, you need to go to Dr. Cha or the problem will worsen. Thank you Dr. Cha and your excellent staff!

Dear Dr. Cha, Toni, and Staff at Hamden Endodontics! What can I say about my FIRST-EVER Root Canal? Simply one of the truly best dental experiences I have ever had in my life! And I'm a 60-year old grandmother! You put me at such ease, listened to me (TRULY listened to me) and told me what you were doing every step of the way! I never felt any pain at all (not even with the novacaine needle--how DO you do that?) and before I knew it I was walking out of the office! I have told so many people about your office already and if I ever need any other work done of that nature, rest assured I will ONLY have Dr. Cha and his staff do it! Hats off to all of you! From someone who suffered terribly in her growing up years with bad dental experiences, the experience with you folks was nothing short of a " pure dream"! Easy to get an appointment and convenient location, with a beautiful, relaxing view while you're treated. Dr. Cha and staff are kind and respectful; even as someone with many dental issues I do not feel judged. And even though I do not have anxiety about dental work, He and assistant Toni are very calming and always ask how I am doing during the procedure. Dr. Cha took the time to clean my glasses after one procedure. It's the little things ;)

I found out Hamden Endodontics through my General Dentist referral. I do not normally write a review but I feel like I have to recommend this place. Dr. Cha and his staffs are so kind and professional. I have had several root canal treatment experience in other places. It was not hard at all to find out why he has such an excellent reputation in the area. I was so calm and relaxed during the treatment. I strongly recommend Dr. Cha for Root Canal or other related dental treatment.

Had 2 bad teeth that Dr. Cha performed root canal on in his Hamden office. I was treated with such amazing respect and care. Both went perfectly and have not had any problems since. I would highly recommend Dr. Cha and his amazing staff for any endodontic treatment.

I got my very first root canal done a few months ago in this office. Dr. Cha and the staff were professional and courteous. Dr. Cha offered clear explanations of the procedure and the calming presence of the staff made me feel at ease. All went extremely well without any complications, and my general dentist was very impressed with the fine work done by Dr. Cha. I highly recommend this practice.

For full disclosure, I am directly related to Dr. Cha but I'll do my best to remain objective. I required a root canal last year and having grown up knowing what kind of procedures these entail, I was fairly anxious. However, Dr. Cha put me at ease immediately with his calm, controlled, and confident demeanor. There was zero pain during the procedure, and the follow-up was thankfully minimal. From what I hear from his colleagues and other patients, I am highly confident that Dr. Cha gives the same compassionate treatment to whoever walks through the door.
