Comprehensive ExamsOur exams are more comprehensive and thorough than most around. Our initial exam not only includes a detailed oral health examination but a one-on-one with Dr. Shnaydruk, Dr. Wendt, Dr. Kirkhoff to discuss your goals and/or concerns for your care. If your treatment needs are more extensive, you will also receive a separate treatment conference where your oral health will be presented along with your treatment options. Dr. Alex was born in Riga, Latvia, and moved to Chaska, Minnesota at the age of 9. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Alex is extremely passionate about learning and keeps up to date with the latest and greatest in dentistry, through continuing education courses and local study clubs. He provides general dentistry with a special interest in digital dentistry, endodontics (root canals), oral surgery, prosthodontics (Implants), and clear aligners. When Dr. Alex is not helping patients, you can find him enjoying the beautiful Minnesota outdoors with family and friends. He also loves to bike, travel, and keep active with CrossFit.
Dr. Jeffrey Wendt was raised in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota in 1983. Dr. Wendt also has a degree in biology from the University of Minnesota. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Association of General Dentistry, and is a founding member of the Minnesota Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Scott Kirkhoff was raised in Burnsville, Minnesota, and has been active in the North Metro dental community for over 20 years. He attended the University of Minnesota for both undergraduate studies and dental school. He graduated in 1991. Dr. Kirkhoff is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Association. Dr. Kirkhoff resides near Cambridge, Minnesota, with his wife. He has two children, one of which is now a Dentist and the other is in Dental Hygiene school. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, skiing, bicycling, and sailing.
I cannot recommend this place enough!!! Ive had problems with my teeth most of my life and it was time for a change. I spent a lot of time with Dr. Alex planning and coming up with the best treatment plan. We decided to proceed with a full mouth rehabilitation in other words a smile make over. The whole process was smooth, painless and comfortable. Dr. Alex made sure to explain every procedure from start to finish. I LOVE my new smile!! Thank you so much!!
As most people have anxiety going to the dentist... I too am one of those people.. The entire staff from the front desk to the dentist are amazing.. not only professional, very welcoming and are excellent at putting your mind at ease.. I would recommend them to anyone!!
After a schedule mix up on my part Dr Kirkoff and staff was able to get me in later the same day to have my temp crown work done. I have been a customer of this office for 15 plus years and they have always been great. Thank you!
I appreciate the total information that is given before a procedure is given. So I know what to expect. My dentist explains what he recommends and the consequences if I decide not to do a procedure. No pressure just facts so I can decide. Very pleased with the staff as well!

Very impressive! Staff iis very nice. All the latest technology which makes for better dental care and a better dental experience. I would highly recommend Ham Lake Dental. They can do your general dentistry and things like crowns and root canals. Love this place!

I never have a bad experience at Ham Lake Dental! Everyone is super friendly and will help with anything you need, and you are not just a number. My hygienist is fabulous, she knows me (or my teeth)very well. I think my favorite thing is that I have never left there without having smiled or laughed. Best dentist office I have ever gone to.

Dr Kirkhoff did an amazing job preparing myself for a crown. He was through and pays attention to detail while making sure I was comfortable and understood the process. Hygienist Trista and Dr Kirkhoff work well together and were very professional and personable.

I love Dr. Kirkhoff is awesome!! I have never had a dentist that I am comfortable with in my entire life! I had a bad experience as a child in the late 60's and haven't liked going to the dentist since I found Dr. Kirkhoff!! Thank you so much Doc!!

My family has been with Ham Lake Dental for years, but until yesterday I've never needed an emergency appt, so when they determined I needed an extraction, it was done immediately, and so kindly, I know they were short staffed, but yet, I felt like I was the only patient in the office. Thank you all at HLD!

I have anxiety about going to the dentist stemming from childhood but Dr. Kirkhoff has such a kind and caring bedside manner that I am no longer anxious about going to the dentist. All of the hygienists and front desk staff are wonderful as well. I have recommended Ham Lake Dental to everyone that I have encountered who was looking for a new dentist in the area. Update: Just a quick addition to my previous review. My daughter had a tooth issue today. I called Ham Lake Dental at 8am and they were able to squeeze us in 3 hrs later! This wasn't the first time they have accommodated an emergent dental problem either! Ham Lake Dental is the best!

Fantastic place if you're looking for a dentist. The staff are super welcoming and easy to talk to. The atmosphere is very calm, fun, and clean. The staff were very informative as well. My dentist, Alex Schnaydruk, is amazing. Very articulate and sharp. Highly recommend.

It was time for my wife Sandy's teeth cleaning. She has dementia and the hygienist was very accommodating and pleasant and as far as I could all went well. I was in the waiting area biding my time. The office staff was great. Answered all my questions in friendly and cordial manner.

Absolutely my best time at a dentist. Everything was explained to me in understandable detail and the staff was very pleasant. I very seldom give a 10 but Jeff and his people sure got one. 9-28-21 Today had my 6 month cleaning. I now have a million dollar smile. 3 more crowns and up to date. Can't wait Ham Lake Dental what a great staff. Stopped in today for a tooth ache. Dr. Jeff explained in detail the different options a available and made my decision very easy. Thanks again for all your help.
