Dr. Kevin Hallgren was born and raised in Kalamazoo. Growing up in and around his fathers orthodontic practice, he saw firsthand the satisfaction and joy that a perfect smile can bring to someones life. The ability to positively impact the lives of others on a daily basis was the driving factor that inspired him to follow in his fathers footsteps, and pursue a career as an orthodontist.
Dr. Kevin attended Western Michigan University, where he excelled through his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences. He then accepted an offer to attend the prestigious University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, in San Francisco, California. During dental school, his passion for orthodontics grew as he conducted craniofacial genetics research and became President of the Orthodontic study club. Dr. Kevin graduated first in his dental class and was awarded the Deans Valedictorian Award along with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Upon graduation from dental school, he was immediately accepted into an orthodontic residency at the University of Texas. While in his residency, Dr. Kevin was educated with state-of-the art orthodontic training with specialized focus in digital orthodontics, micro-esthetic enhancements and Invisalign treatment modalities. He successfully completed an original research thesis focusing on improving post-orthodontic treatment esthetics and was awarded a Master of Science in Dentistry degree and a Certificate in Orthodontics.
Following his graduation from the University of Texas, Dr. Kevin completed the rigorous requirements to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Becoming a Diplomate is a unique achievement as less than 35% of all orthodontic specialists are board certified, which places him at the top of his specialty.
Dr. Kevin and his wife Jessica have four children, Ruth, Charles, Griffin, and Josephine. Jessica is also an enthusiastic member of our office team and enjoys assisting patients with scheduling and ensuring a positive experience for all. Together they enjoy camping, sporting events, traveling, and spending time outdoors with their children and their Goldendoodle, Maizey.

Each member understands the importance of good communication and will always take the time to discuss the various processes and steps involved in treatment and to answer your questions as thoroughly as possible. We regularly participate in continuing education courses to stay current in the latest orthodontic techniques and procedures. Our staff members, with an average of over 20 years of experience in the field of orthodontics, have the knowledge, experience and proven dedication to ensure that our patients receive the finest care available.

I recently joined the team at Hallgren Orthodontics and am enjoying getting to know all of our patients and their families. My primary role is to assist in front office duties and to ensure a positive experience for all. My husband, Dr. Kevin Hallgren, and I both share a passion for providing exceptional service to each of our patients. My favorite part of orthodontics is seeing the confidence and satisfaction that treatment provides!
I have been a certified orthodontic assistant for 22 years, joining Dr. Hallgrens staff in 1993. I enjoy my role as a chairside assistant along with assisting in the fabrication of retainers. It is a privilege to work with such a professional, caring team that continually strives for excellence in patient care. It is also very gratifying to see our patients excitement and confidence soar when they finish treatment with their beautiful smiles.
I have been working in the orthodontic field since 1997 and joined Dr. Hallgrens staff in 2004. I am responsible for helping in the fabrication of orthodontic appliances as well as coordinating and taking diagnostic records for patient treatment. I enjoy welcoming new patients to our friendly and positive environment.
I have worked with orthodontic patients for over 19 years in all aspects of their treatment. I have enjoyed being a part of Dr. Hallgrens team since 2005. I currently assist Dr. Hallgren chairside and also help in the lab. Assuring that our patients feel comfortable and understand all aspects of their treatment is a very gratifying part of my job.
I have been with Dr. Hallgrens orthodontic team since 2001. I enjoy all of my laboratory duties, especially helping to create state-of-the-art retainers that allow our patients to maintain their beautiful smiles after completing orthodontic treatment.
I joined the administrative staff at Hallgren Orthodontics in 2017, bringing a wealth of customer service knowledge to the team. My previous work experiences (including positions at Walt Disney World and SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment) have taught me how to have fun while providing exceptional service through scheduling, financial planning, insurance billing, and patient interaction. I was treated as a patient at Hallgren Orthodontics and grew up learning the language of orthodontics as the daughter and sister of Dr. Steven and Dr. Kevin. I am passionate about extending a warm and friendly welcome to our patients, growing our orthodontic family and creating smiles that will last a lifetime!
