Raised in Southern California, Dr. S. M. Bhatt attended UC Irvine for his undergraduate studies. After graduating from Creighton University Dental School in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1985, he moved back to the area, where he has since provided comprehensive and personalized care to patients throughout the area.

Dr. Bhatt is a proud member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Academy of Implant Dentistry and Indian Dental Association of California. Additionally, training in implantology led to his credentialing with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), which is a nationally recognized association.

Outside of the office, Dr. Bhatt spends time with his beloved wife, son and daughter. He also has a passion for capturing beautiful images of SoCal, and patients can see many of the photos in our office.

An implant is a prosthetic tooth designed to replace both the root and crown of the tooth. Implants look, feel and function just like your original tooth, including performing the same functions of stimulating your supporting jawbone to provide a stable foundation for your teeth.

Implant dentistry is typically recommended when you are missing one or more teeth. Depending on your needs, the implant or implants you receive may support a single crown, a dental bridge or a full denture.

Implants have two main parts. One is the implant post a small screw made of titanium that replaces the tooth root and provides the foundation of your new tooth. The second part is the implant restoration the replacement tooth that caps the implant and completes your treatment.

Almost everyone is a candidate for dental implants. As long as your mouth is healthy and free from decay and disease, you should be able to receive an implant. If you have tooth decay, periodontal disease or another condition, you will need to complete treatment for that condition prior to having an implant placed. Similarly, if your supporting bone has resorbed, or shrunk, due to the missing tooth, you may require a bone graft before your implant placement.
